New in: The christmas gift edition 2014

Ich weiß gar nicht mehr wann ich den letzten new in-post getippt und fotografiert habe, aber es ist viiiiel zu lange her. Es haben sich unzählige neue Dinge bei mir angesammelt, aber die bekomme ich alle gar nicht mehr zusammen, weil diese schon mit meinem Kleiderschrank und Beautyschränkchen verschmolzen sind. Ich hab mal in die Schränke reingerufen und alle neuen Teile gebeten vorzutreten, aber die halten natürlich alle zusammen und schweigen einfach. Dabei wissen die doch dass ich mir überhaupt nichts merken kann. Aber weil ich immerhin noch weiß was dieses Jahr unter dem Baum lag, gibt es hier einen kleinen Weihnachtsgeschenkepost mit ein paar auserwählten Schmankerln. Immerhin habe ich dran gedacht, wenn auch mit einem Monat Verspätung.

Its been a while since I wrote a new in post and I purchased a lot of cool stuff since then, but all of this has melted into my closet and beauty shelves so I can not say whether something is new or has been there all the time. Yes, my non existent memory is quite an issue. Somehow I can't remember certain things, but I still remember what I got for christmas. I know, this post is like one month overdue, but hey at least I remember that I wanted to show you some of my new ins, right? No really, there is no need to applaud. Just give me a whoop whoop.

Ich gehöre zu den Leuten, die sich selbst Geschenke machen. Zur Weihnachtszeit schenke ich mir grundsätzlich auch etwas, packe es ein und lege es unter den Baum. Klingt komisch, ist aber so. Ich freu mich dann auch immer total wenn ich wieder auspacken darf. Es kommt ja auch vor, dass ich vergesse was ich mir selbst schenke. So zum Beispiel das Lipstick Queen Discovery kit. Es enthält drei Farben aus drei verschiedenen Produktkategorien. Nummer eins ist Butterfly Ball in der Farbe Sigh. Es soll an den Flügelschlag von Schmetterlingen erinnern, Er enthält ganz feinen blauen Schimmer, der aber kaum zu sehen ist. Nummer zwei gehört zur Saint-Linie, die mit 10 Prozent Pigmentanteil eher transparent ist. Die Farbe Pink ist daher schön sheer und null barbie like. Und Nummer drei des Trios ist Medieval. Die Idee dahinter ist fast steinalt: Im Mittelalter färbten sich die Frauen die Lippen mit Zitronensaft, um eine natürlich rote Farbe zu bekommen. Medieval ist ein dezent rotes Lip Treatment, das zu jedem Hauttyp passen soll. Ich mag alle drei Farben ganz gerne und bin auch von der Konsistenz positiv überrascht. Nur der Duft ist oldschool. So roch mein erster Lippenstift im Alter von sechs Jahren. Ich wusste gar nicht, dass man sowas noch herstellt. Ansonsten: Immer her damit!

I love buying gifts. I'm just happy when others are happy. But I also like to purchase gifts for myself. Then I will wrap them up and put them under the christmas tree. On christmas eve I unwrap them again and thank myself for having bought them. Wow, I must sound like a crazy person. But you know, thats just how I roll. So this year I surprised myself with the discovery kit by Lipstick Queen. It contains three lipsticks of three different ranges. At first there is the shade Sigh from their Butterfly Ball range. Its a mauve color with subtle blue shimmer. The effect on the lips is supposed to imitate a butterfly wing. Sounds weird, but looks really pretty on the lips. Next there is Pink from the Saint 10 Percent lip stick line. Its sheer and not barbie like at all. The last one is Medieval, a sheer red lip treatment/ tint which is supposed to flatter all skin tones. In the Middle Ages women used lemons to create a red stain on their lips and this is what Medieval does in a more modern way. I like all three of them, but I'm on the fence with the scent of these. It reminds me of my first lipstick I got at age six, its so oldschool. I didn't even know that there are still products out there with this particular scent. I can't really describe it, but I don't like it. Besides that: You can't go wrong with any of these!

Das OPI Little Northies Nordic collection Miniset beinhaltet drei Farben die ich unbedingt haben wollte: My Dogsled is a Hybrid, Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? und How Great is Your Dane?, den ich hier schon vorgestellt habe. My Voice is a Little Norse ist zwar nicht ganz mein Ding, aber hübsches Beiwerk.

This cute little OPI Little Northies Nordic collection mini set contains three shades I really wanted to get from this collection: My Dogsled is a Hybrid, Do You Have This Color in Stock-Holm? and How Great is Your Dane?, which I already showed you here. My Voice is a Little Norse isn't my favorite, but maybe I will find a way to use this. 

Aaaahhhh Stella! Ich habe ja schon oft erwähnt, dass mein boyfriend immer sehr genau zuhört und das hat er auch zu Weihnachten wieder bewiesen. Stella stand seit dem ersten Schnuppern auf meiner Wunschliste und ich kann gar nicht genug von diesem feinen Rosenduft bekommen.

Oh Stella, this is what rose scented dreams are made of. I already mentioned that my boyfriend is very attentive and especially around christmas he is interested in my secret, ok not so secret (I so want this!) wishlist. I knew I wanted this fragrance after just one sniff and I can't get enough of it.

Winterzeit ist Badezeit. Auch wenn ich kein Badewannengroupie bin, muss ich manachmal einfach in eine heiße Wanne eintauchen. Wenn ich vorher ein paar Traumstunden Badeperlen einstreue lullt mich die süße Wärme von Vanille, Mandeln und Orangen dann so richtig ein. 

Although I prefer showering, I like to take a bath in wintertime when its freezing outside and my feet are cold and a cup of hot tea just isn't enough. Then I like to put some of Tetesept's Bath crystals in my bath tub. The scent of vanilla, almonds and oranges is beyond good. 

Eine besonders schöne Ausgabe von Bram Stokers Dracula (in englischer Originalfassung) wollte ich schon immer haben und die hier ist doch wohl mega schön. Hat zwar nichts mit Beauty zu tun, aber ist trotzdem hübsch anzuschauen.

I always wanted to have a pretty edition of Bram Stoker's Dracula. This one by Barnes & Noble is just perfect. I realize that Dracula isn't beauty related at all, but I don't care because its my blog and I post about books if I want to, books if I want to. Sorry, couldn't resist using these lyrics.

Und noch ein Geschenk von mir an mich. Der Ring von Dyrberg/Kern ist schick, aber nicht klobig und passt zu so ziemlich allem. Hab ich gut ausgesucht, wie ich finde.

Another gift I got for myself. This ring by Dyrberg/Kern is chic but not bulky and looks great with a nice dress or jeans and t-shirt. Well done.

Ein zauberhaftes Buch über Valentinos Kreationen gab es von den Schwiegereltern. Macht sich mehr als gut auf einem coffee table.

My boyfriend's parents know me by now and they do know that I have a thing for good coffee table books. And who doesn't love Valentino?

Von meinem boyfriend gab es noch ein Paar Hyperflex Jeans von Replay. Die sind durch ihren hohen Strechanteil so bequem wie Jogginghosen. Ich könnte damit sogar einen Spagat machen. Kann ich nur nicht, aber ein Purzelbaum geht auch. 

My boyfriend got me Replay's Hyperflex Jeans which are as comfy as my yoga pants. The fabric is soft and so elastic that you could actually do your yoga classes wearing them. That doesn't include me.

 Das Seidenkleid packten mir meine Eltern unter den Weihnachtsbaum (unter anderem). Es ist so schön bohoschick und wird von mir mit einem Taillengürtel, Fellweste und Hut gestylt.

I received this boho chic silk dress from my parents. I wore it with a fake fur vest, boots, a waist belt and a hat. 

Weil ich so vergesslich bin, habe ich mir einen Kalendar gewünscht und als Wichtelgeschenk von einer lieben Arbeitskollegin bekommen. Ich hoffe, ich verliere ihn nicht wieder so wie die Jahre zuvor immer. Dieses Exemplar verfügt sogar über eine genau Zeittabelle, damit erledigt sich dann auch die Frage nach "War das jetzt um 11h? oder um 12h?".

Because I tend to forget about things, a lovely co-worker hooked me up with a diary to write all my dates in. I always forget where I leave my calendars and by april I'm left without one, but I swear I will have an eye on this one. It even has a time table in it so that I no longer have to ask myself whether I'm too late for my date or just in time for it.

Meine Arbeitskollegin war auch so lieb noch ein paar Yankee Candles (Christmas Cookie <3), Teelichthalter und eine Handcreme einzupacken. 

My lovely co-worker also wrapped up a few yankee candles (oh Christmas Cookie <3), candle holders and a hand cream for me. Such a sweetheart.

New in: Fashion - Poland haul edition

Heute nun Teil drei meiner kleinen haul-Reihe. Eigentlich wollte ich gar nichts kaufen, aber wie das so ist wenn grad Sale ist. Mein Konto ist jetzt so leer geräubert, dass ich mich in nächster Zeit mal zusammenreißen muss. Ernsthaft. Ich schaue mir am besten keinen einzigen Limited Edition Release an und lösche alle Shopping apps von meinem Iphone. Gleich morgen.

Here we go with part three of my little haul series. It's all about shoes, a lot of button down shirts, and timeless pieces. With sale season it's kind of a love/hate thing. I love to shop the sale, because I always find classic pieces for less, but then things get out of hand and I will be afraid of my credit card bills for the next three months (at least). I'm officially broke now. So please let there be no more superb limited editions (I'm talking to you, MAC Cosmetics and your Simpsons collection!). Oh and I think it's best if I delete all shopping apps on my iphone. Just in case I get bored and just want to have a quick look at their new arrivals.

Espadrilles: Bershka

Sommer und Espadrilles. Das gehört einfach zusammen. Und als ich diese hübschen Exemplare hier bei Bershka entdeckte, war ich gleich entzückt. Ich meine, sie sind aus Spitze und haben Schnürsenkel in Koralle. Wie gut ist das denn?

Summer and espadrilles. It's like salt and pepper. You can't have one without the other. Add lace and coral into the mix and you have a perfect shoe for summer.

Ich bin eigentlich kein Fan von ärmellosen Oberteilen und ich greife sonst eher nach Tshirts oder Blusen oder Pullis. Wenn die Sonne aber vom Himmel knallt und man im Prinzip im Bikini vor die Tür müsste damit man nicht wegschmilzt, werde auch ich vernünftig und lasse die Ärmel weg. Das hübsche Top von New Look hat da nämlich andere Vorzüge. Die Spitze, die kleinen Knöpfe, der Netzeinsatz am Rücken, das Muster...Wer braucht da schon Ärmel?

Normally I would always choose a Thshirt or button down over a top. Simply because I like sleeves and I don't like my arms so much. But when I saw this top with the lace and the buttons on the back and the pattern I couldn't resist.

Ich mag Blusen. Wirklich, ich habe dutzende. Kariert, gepunktet, mit Herzchen, geknotet, mit Schluppe, aus Jeans und so weiter. Ich hatte bisher nur keine weiße Bluse. Ich weiß. Das ist das Basic überhaupt. Wie kann man keine weiße Bluse besitzen? Aber bisher passte einfach keine so richtig gut. Bis jetzt. Meistens glaube ich ja, dass mir Blusen auch ganz gut stehen und dann könnte ich jeden Tag eine andere Bluse aus meinem Schrank holen und mich daran erfreuen. Dann gibt es Tage, an denen ich mich mit Bluse im Spiegel betrachte und denke "Was stimmt denn nicht mir dir? So kannst du doch nicht unter Leute!". Mein Blusen-Beziehungsstatus ist also kompliziert. Falls ich aber mal wieder eine Bluse=Nonplusultra-Phase habe, habe ich mir Nachschub besorgt.

I really have a thing for button down shirts. I own dozens of button downs: I have polka dots, hearts, plaid, denim, a version that can be knotted and so on. But I didn't have a white button down. It's like the one basic shirt every one needs in their closet because it's so versatile. But I never found one that had the right fit, until now. The thing is, most of the time I like wearing button down shirts, but every once in a while I see myself in the mirror wearing such a shirt and think to myself "Oh hell no". You see, it's complicated. But the next time I will be standing in front of my closet trying to figure out if I'm in the mood for a button down shirt, I will have three more options to decide if I am.

Trenchcoat: Bershka, blouse: Stradivarius

Überraschung. Wieder eine Bluse. Sie ließ sich nur nicht richtig fotografieren, weil die Farbe immer irgendwie ausgewaschen wirkte. Vielleicht sollte ich mal einen Outfitpost mit ihr machen.
Was ist klassischer als eine weiße Bluse? Genau, ein Trenchcoat.  Ich habe zwar schon einen, aber irgendwie sind wir nie so richtig warm geworden miteinander. Dieser hier ist von B. Nein, natürlich nicht von Burberry. Bitte weiteratmen. Ich finde, dass Bershka das aber auch ziemlich gut hinbekommen hat. Der Mantel sitzt wie angegossen. Ich bin very amused und werde ihn sicher nicht links liegen lassen (so wie seinen Vorgänger). Und mal ehrlich, wäre der Trench wirklich von Burberry, hätte er doch wohl einen feierlichen Extrapost verdient! Und danach gäbe es sicher ein Jahr lang keinen new in post mehr (weil pleite)^^

Somehow I couldn't take a proper picture of this gorgeous green blouse, because my camera wasn't able to capture the color. Maybe I will do an outfit post one day wearing this beauty.
Besides a white button down, the trench coat is another staple in every woman's closet. I found mine at Bershka. It's not Burberry, but it fits like a glove and both labels start with the letter B. So they have something in common. Who knows, maybe one day there will be a fancy post on the blog showing you my very first Burberry trench coat. And this might be the last post then, because I will be broke. Probably.

Wo wir schon bei Blusen sind...Blusenkleider sind mindestens genauso super wie herkömmliche Blusen. Ich besitze so ein Kleid eigentlich schon, ebenfalls in Schwarz. Aber weil es so oft zum Einsatz kommt, weil es so wunderbar wandelbar ist, wollte ich für Ersatz sorgen. Gefunden habe ich es bei Cubus. Das letzte Mal als ich bei Cubus gestöbert habe, entdeckte ich meine liebste Bluse. Hier und hier zu sehen. Die geht immer (auch an diesen "Blusen hat der Teufel gemacht!"-Tagen). So wie das schwarze Hemdblusenkleid.

Although I already own a black one, very similar to the one above, I needed a new dress, just in case the other one gets kidnapped or something. I found this dress at Cubus. The last time I shopped at Cubus I fell in love with my all time favorite button down, see it here and here.

Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg

Gestern nahm mich meine Mitbewohnerin mit zum Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg. Ich kann zwar  weder nähen, noch stricken, noch häkeln oder besonders hübsch zeichnen (Entwürfe schon gar nicht), aber meine Mitbewohnerin Bibi kann alles oben genannte ganz fabelhaft.
Anlässlich meines Geburtstages letzte Woche, nähte sie mir ein süßes Kosmetiktäschchen im Eulendesign. Und weil ich davon nicht genug bekommen kann, durfte gleich ein neuer Kosmetiktäschchen-Stoff mit.

Yesterday my roommate took me to a market for fabrics called Stoffmarkt Holland in Hamburg. I can't neither sew nor knit nor draw (especially nothing that could count as any form of design), but my roommate Bibi can do all these things mentioned above and she does them pretty fabulous.
For my birthday last week she sew me a little bag for my cosmetics. And because I can never have enough cosmetic bags, we picked another fabric at the market for a new one.
