Der Opi Nagellack der Woche: Midnight in Moscow

Der Nagellack der Woche ist ein wahres Schätzchen. Midnight in Moscow aus der Russland Kollektion von 2007 hat eine dunkelgraue, fast schwarze Base in der ultra feiner roter Schimmer steckt. In der Sonne ist der Schimmer deutlich zu sehen, aber auch im Tageslicht sorgt er dafür, dass der Lack nicht zu hart wirkt. Durch den roten Schimmer wirkt der Lack fast Braun. Midnight in Moscow braucht zwei dünne Schichten und etwas Topcoat für extra Glanz und fertig. Toll für den Herbst <3 Ich habe die Farbe unter anderem zu meinem Date mit meiner ersten Pumpkin Spice Latte in diesem Jahr getragen. Mehr Herbst geht fast schon gar nicht.

This week's color is just fabulous. It's from OPI's Russian collection from 2007. Midnight in Moscow has a base that's almost black and is filled with red micro shimmer. The shimmer is really visible in sunlight. In daylight it just lightens up the black base so it appears brown. It's so perfect for fall. I wore this mani while having my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year (yay). I needed two costs for full coverage and one coat of top coat to add some extra shine to this beauty.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Krème de la Kremlin

Ich habe hier ja schon oft von meinen beiden absoluten Opi Lieblings Kollektionen vorgeschwärmt. Genau, La Collection De France und die Russian Collection. Ich möchte sie alle! Mir blutet immer wieder das Herz wenn ich swatches von Farben wie Baguette Me Not oder Catherine the Grape ansehe. Manch einer wird jetzt sagen, dass die Farben nicht unbedingt einzigartig sind und ich sicher irgendwo dupes finde. Möchte ich das? Nö. Ich möchte genau diese Farben. Keine dupes oder "so ähnlich". So ähnlich, was soll das sein? Regelmäßig überprüfe ich auf ebay, ob sich irgendwo ein discontinued-Schätzchen verbirgt und manchmal, aber nur manchmal finde ich tatsächlich die Nadel im Heuhaufen. Die Nadel ist in diesem Fall Krème de La Kremlin aus der Russland Kollektion 2007 und der Heuhaufen ebay.com und mein Komplize ist mein liebster Cousin, der mir die heiße Ware immer aus den Staaten rüberschifft. Ich mache es mal noch deutlicher: Ich bin sowas wie der Indiana Jones des verlorenen Nagellackes. Mein Tempel des Todes ist ebay&Co. Mein Cousin ist Sean Connery, der mich auf meinen unzähligen letzen Kreuzzügen unterstützt. (Wer an genau dieser Stelle jetzt irgendeine Anspielung auf Indy 4 erwartet, wird enttäuscht. So enttäuscht wie ich nach dem Kinobesuch damals. Ich habe die Aliengeschichte immer noch nicht verarbeitet und das werde ich auch in Zukunft nicht). 

Aber zurück zum eigentlichen Thema: Krème de La Kremlin ist ein warmer Terracottaton oder doch Altrosa? Ich sollte mal einen Farbbeschreibungskurs machen. Auf jeden fall wunderschön. Zwei Schichten reichen für eine gute Deckkraft. Krème de La Kremlin passt richtig gut zu meinem Hautton und ist so schön herbstlich und ach, ich könnte ewig so weiter machen. Sieben Jahre nicht umsonst gewartet. 

I can't count the many times I wrote about my two favorite Opi collections. And I haven't changed my mind yet. The Russian collection and La Collection De France are the best ever. And some of them are still on my wish list, unfortunately. So I spend hours in front of my laptop searching the web for limited edition treasures. Let me explain this better: Consider me the Indiana Jones of nail polish. I'm not searching for the lost ark, but the many discontinued shades of collections which have been released long ago. Ebay.com is my Temple of Doom and my cousin Thomas is like Sean Connery, helping me to ship the stuff to Germany after I have raided some rare nail polishes on my many Last Crusades. (There will be no references to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull here, because I'm still so disappointed...Aliens? Really? I'm just not ready to talk about it yet. Maybe in five or ten years or never. It's just too sad). But back to business: Krème de la Kremlin from Opi's 2007 Russian fall collection is a warm terracotta or a dusty rose. Depending on how good you're color description skills are. Mine are like my math skills. They don't exist. Anyway. Krème de la Kremlin needs two coats to be opaque and is so so pretty. It's very flattering with my skintone and so perfect for fall. Can you believe that I had to wait seven years for this beauty?

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Ruble for your thoughts

Über diesen Post freue ich mich besonders. Denn der Nagellack der Woche ist ganz frisch in meiner Sammlung. Es ist Ruble for your thoughts aus der Russian Collection von Opi. Wie gut mir diese Kollektion gefällt, muss ich nicht weiter erwähnen denke ich.
Ruble for your thoughts ist ein schimmerndes, kupferfarbenes Mauve-Orange-Braun-Pink. Ziemlich schwierig zu beschreiben, was die Farbe aber nicht weniger schön macht. Die Fotos können leider nicht alle Facetten der Farbe einfangen. Wie so oft...
Nach zwei Schichten ist der Lack schon gut deckend und ein wenig streifig, dreimal aufgepinselt wird er allerdings perfekt. Topcoat empfehle ich wie immer für die Haltbarkeit und den wunderschönen Glanz.
Ruble for your thoughts ist eine fabelhafte Herbst/Winterfarbe, die bestens zu Dunkelblau, Brauntönen, Weiß und Gold aussieht. Warum hat Opi die Farbe noch gleich aus dem Sortiment genommen....?


Iam truly happy about this week's post, because the nail polish I'm talking about today is brand new to my collection. This week's Opi is Ruble for your thoughts from the Russian Collection. I don't think that I have to mention how much I like all the colors that have been released with it.
Ruble for your thoughts is a shimmering, copperish mauve with hints of brown and orange and pink in it. It is very difficult to describe, but that doesn't make it less pretty. The fotos below can hardly capture all colors of it. Unfortunately this happens too often...
I used three coats of it and a topcoat to achieve this perfectly opaque and shiny finish (it definitely looks better with three coats, because of that little streaking tendency).
Ruble for your thoughts is perfect for the fall and winter season and looks gorgeous with browns, whites, navy blue and gold.
So why exactly is this one discontinued..?

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: A Oui Bit of Red

Dass ich eine Schwäche für Rottöne und alle dunklen Farben habe, kann ich wahrscheinlich nicht mehr verbergen. Deshalb musste es in dieser Woche auch mal wieder etwas rotes sein. Die Wahl fiel auf einen Klassiker aus der La Collection de France aus der Herbst/Winter Saison 2008. A Oui bit of red ist ein Rot wie es im Bilderbuch steht. Es ist kräftig, cremig und ist unauffällig auffällig. Es hat einen unheimlich feinen roten und pinken Schimmer, der so fein ist, dass er erst im Sonnenlicht richtig gut sichtbar ist. Und trotzdem: Ich liiiiebe diese Farbe! Ich habe ja schon von der Frankreich Kollektion geschwärmt, die viele alltime-favorites hervorgebracht hat. Manche sind leider nur noch schwer erhältlich. Aber das Drama kennen wir ja schon von der Russian Collection. Der Farbauftrag ist perfekt und nach einer Schicht schon voll deckend und glänzend (ich bevorzuge wie immer zwei Schichten plus Topcoat).
A Oui bit of red ist ein absoluter Allrounder. Funktioniert mit jedem Outfit und das zu jeder Tageszeit. Wann immer ich ihn auftrage fühle ich mich augenblicklich très chic. Perfekt also für all die Tage, an denen man sich nach französischem Flair sehnt und das Ringelshirt mal nicht ausreicht.

Obviously I´m really into all red and glamorous dark colors. So this week its about time for another red nail polish. A Oui bit of red from the La Collection de France fall/winter 2008 is a true, creamy and bright red with very slight pink and red shimmer. It is barely noticeable unless your out in the sunlight. But I love it anyway! Like I already mentioned, I´m a huge fan of the France collection, because it produced many all time favorites. Unfortunately some of the polishes are hard to find (same dilemma as with the Russian collection). The formula is great and opaque and shiny with just one coat (but I prefer two as always and topcoat). A Oui bit of red is very universal, you can wear it from day to night time. Wearing it I instantly feel trés chic. So its perfect for all those days when you are longing for some French touch and a navy striped shirt just wouldn´t do it.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Russian Navy

Der Lack den ich in dieser Woche vorstelle, gehört zum einen zu den Klassikern von OPI und zum anderen zu meinen Lieblingen. Russian Navy wurde 2007 mit der Russian Collection released. Für mich nebst der La Collection de France von 2008 die schönste und vielleicht sogar legendärste Kollektion die OPI bislang produziert hat. Jeder Farbton dieser Kollektion ist zeitlos schön. Von den kräftigen Rottönen bis zu den dunklen, eleganten Onyxtönen. Da viele der Farben nur noch schwer zu bekommen sind, halte ich stets Augen&Ohren offen um keine Gelegenheit auszulassen noch mehr Schätze aus dieser fabelhaften Kollektion nach Hause zu holen. Bisher konnte ich Suzi says da und Russian Navy meiner Sammlung hinzufügen. 

Russian Navy ist ein dunkles Metallicblau mit sehr feinem, blauem und lila Schimmer. In der Flasche kommen die Schimmerpartikel voll zur Geltung. Im Sonnenlicht ist ein feiner Hauch davon zu sehen. Nach einer Schicht ist er nahezu deckend, nach zwei Schichten allerdings bekommt er diese besondere Tiefe und durch Topcoat noch mehr Glanz. Es ist eine unheimlich glamouröse Farbe, die auch Jeans&Tshirt sofort etwas schicker macht.

Russian Navy sollte in keiner Sammlung fehlen, weil es zeitlos klassisch ist und in Verbindung mit Safrangelb und Weiß wunderbare Highlights setzt!

Since more and more people asked me to blog in English, I decided to give it a try.

So here we go: 
This week's choice of OPI nail polish is really one of my favorites. Besides that, it is an Opi classic.
 Russian Navy was released in fall/winter of 2007 as one of the twelve legendary colors of the Russian collection. Personally I think that this collection (followed by the 2008 La Collection de France) is the best OPI has released so far. Every single color is gorgeous. Starting with the deep, shining reds and not ending with all the vampy, glamorous darks. 
I managed to add Suzi says da and Russian Navy to my own collection and hope there are more to follow (since some of the colors have been discontinued and therefore hard to find)! 
Russian Navy is a dark metallic blue with subtile blue and purple shimmer.
 It is very obvious in the bottle and when the sunlight hits the nail you definitely see hints of it. It is nearly opaque with one coat, but I prefer to apply two coats so that this very rich depth is given. I recommend topcoat to add even more shine to it. 
This color is so glamorous and elegant, that it can instantly refresh your daily jeans and Tshirt-uniform.
 I love to pair it with yellows and whites, so that it has this kind of beautiful, highlighting effect.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Suzi says da!

Priwiet! Draußen vor der Tür herrscht ein wahrhaft russischer Winter und dazu passend habe ich für diese Woche einen Nagellack aus der Russland Kollektion gewählt. Die russian collection wurde bereits im Herbst/Winter 2007 released und gehört für mich zu den schönsten
Kollektionen überhaupt. Farben wie Vodka&Caviar oder Russian Navy sind zu echten Klassikern geworden. So auch die Farbe der Woche. Suzi says da! ist ein wunderschöner Schokoladenton mit einer leichten Bordeaunuance. Nach zwei Schichten ist die Farbe ebenmäßig und sieht mit Topcoat fabelhaft cremig und glänzend aus.
Es ist eine tolle Winterfarbe, weil das Braun zwar dunkel ist aber einen warmen Unterton hat. Am besten passt Suzi says da! zu Lila, Weiß, Creme und Blau. Mit Skinnyjeans, schicker Schluppenbluse, braunen Stiefeln und als Highlight einem matten bordeaufarbenem Lippenstift wirkt der Lack besonders edel.
Suzi says da! kann ich allen Devochkas (egal aus welchen Teilen der Erde) wärmstens ans Herz legen!
