Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest

Ich habe ja schon öfter erwähnt, dass Marken die nicht in Deutschland erhältlich sind, eine ganz besondere Anziehungskraft auf mich ausüben. Manchmal muss es auch keine gesamte Produktreihe sein, sondern nur ein einzelnes Teil das es bei uns nicht gibt. So ergeht es mir beispielsweise wenn ich auf der amerikanischen Yankee Candle-Seite stöbere. Natürlich haben wir hier auch eine ganz nette Vielfalt, aber mit Cinnamon Vanilla und Cotton Candy können wir einfach nicht mithalten. Burt's Bees ist ein anderes Beispiel. Die Lippenbalsame und die getönten Versionen sind hier zwar auch erhältlich und reizen mich nach mehrmaligem Ausprobieren nun mehr wenig, aber die neuen Lip Crayons wiederum weckten ganz fix mein Interesse. Erhältlich sind sie meines Wissens seit letztem Jahr in den USA&Kanada. 

Die Lip Crayons von Burt's Bees kommen in der mittlerweile standardisierten dicken Buntstiftform a la Chubby Stick daher. Die Schutzkappe ziert ein kleines Wabenmuster, was bei Burt's Bees natürlich nicht weit hergeholt ist. Insgesamt sind sechs Farben erhältlich. Ich habe mir die Nuance Redwood Forest besorgt. Es ist ein dunkles, kräftiges Rot. Die Pigmentierung ist ziemlich gut, was man von Burt's Bees so vielleicht nicht erwartet. Der Lippenstift an sich ist geruchsneutral, was viele freuen wird. Mich dagegen eher weniger. Ich brauche einfach ein bisschen Zuckerwatte oder Zitronenlimonade in meinen Lippenprodukten. Die Haltbarkeit ist gut, Essen und Trinken machen dem Lip Crayon aber natürlich schon zu schaffen. 

Die Chubbystick Variante von Burts Bees ist ziemlich erschwinglich: 9$ kostet ein Exemplar. Ich bin gespannt, ob es die Lip Crayons irgendwann nach Deutschland schaffen oder ob auch sie der Kategorie "Oh maaaan, warum gibt es das hier nicht?" zugeordnet werden müssen. 

I often mentioned that brands which aren't available in Germany are the most interesting ones. We have tons of brands and also some which are available overseas, but still there are major differences in product ranges. Yankee Candle is a good example: We have a good variety of scents here, but whenever I check out the American website I'm like "whooooa. I need these Cinnamon Vanilla and Cotton Candy tarts". Another example is Burt's Bees. Their lip balms and tinted lip balms are available here as well, but how about their new lip crayons which are already available in the US&Canada? I haven't spotted them yet, but since I needed to give them a try I had to get my hands on at least one of them no matter how. So here we go with Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest. The packaging must be familiar by now. The lip color comes in a chubby stick like tube. The cap has this cute honeycomb structure on it, which is a reminder that Burt's Bees is all about that honey. 

There are six shades in total, I decided to give Redwood Forest a try. It's a deep red which is anything but sheer and instantly reminds me of fall. I'm perfectly aware that we're in the nearly midst of June now, but this can't wait till October. There's no detectable scent, which maybe good news for some of you and bad news for others. I just need a little bit of cotton candy or lemon cake flavor in my lip products. Lasting time is ok, but you will have to reapply the color after eating and drinking. A huge plus is that they are totally affordable. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons retail for 9$. Let's see if they will make it to the German/European market...

My everyday makeup

Mein tagtäglicher Look ist eigentlich simpel, erfordert gefühlt auch maximal zehn Minuten, vielleicht fünfzehn, wenn man die fünf Minuten extra fürs Wimpernbiegen berücksichtigt. Dafür dass ich meinen Look so natürlich wie möglich halten möchte, kommt trotzdem einiges an Produkten zusammen. Drapiert zu einem Instagram würdigen Bild staune ich auch nicht schlecht darüber, was da alles zusammenkommt. Und trotzdem sieht es nachher nicht so aus, als hätte ich mein Makeup Schicht für Schicht aufgestpachtelt. Wirklich nicht.

My everyday makeup look is actually pretty basic, but considering the amount of products (nicely organized for an Instagram-worthy shot) you might think otherwise. But believe me, I just need ten, maybe fifteen minutes (lash curling needs extra time) to slap it on and head out the door. And the finish is rather natural looking. 

Los geht's mit der Foundation. Meinen Liebling von ck one color habe ich euch ja hier schon gezeigt und meine Liebe lang und breit bekundet. Nochmal in Kurzfassung: Sieht aus wie Haut. Punkt. 

Als nächstes muss der Concealer all das in meinem Gesicht kaschieren, was die Foundation alleine nicht schafft. In erster Linie sind da meine dunkelblauen Augenringe. Die sind leider auch da wenn ich 24 Stunden Schlaf hatte. Also wird der Maybelline Löscher überall dort aufgetragen, wo es brennt (den konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen, sorry). Ohne Rouge verlasse ich grundsätzlich nicht das Haus, weil meine natürliche Hautfarbe die seltsame Angewohnheit hat mich tot aussehen zu lassen. Deswegen wird mit dem Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Amp'd Up Apple schwupps etwas künstliche Wangenröte aufgetupft und ich erschrecke gleich ein paar Menschen weniger auf der Straße. An manchen Tagen fühle ich mich extra fancy und highlighte meine Wangenknochen (oder eben dort wo ich sie vermute) ein wenig mit  dem Mineralize Skinfinish in Adored von MAC. Das Highlighten und Konturieren ist irgendwie nicht so richtig mein Ding. Nicht dass mein Gesicht es nicht nötig hätte, Gott nein,  etwas Struktur hat noch niemanden geschadet, aber ich hab einfach noch nicht die richtigen Produkte für mich gefunden. 

It all starts with the right foundation. I already raved about my favorite one from ck one color here and it's still the one I'm using on a daily basis because it just looks like skin. Maybelline's The Eraser concealer conceals all my imperfections and hardcore dark circles. A bit of blush is a must for me. My corpse like face just needs some fresh touch of color to look awake in the morning. I know I talked about it before and before, but what can I say? Clinique's Chubby Stick Cheek Colour balm in Amp'd Up Apple is my perfect everyday cheek color. On some days I feel extra fancy and use a highlighter, like the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Adored right where I think my cheekbones are. I have to admit that I'm not so much into that highlight and contour craze like everybody else. It's not like my face isn't craving some texture, I just haven't found the right products for me yet.

Aber weiter zur nächsten Baustelle: 

Für meine Augenbrauen benutze ich den ultragünstigen Eyebrow Liner von H&M in Light Brown. Danach trage ich eine Lidschattenbase, z.B den 24Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer von Smashbox auf. Ich trage zwar nur etwas Eyeliner, aber meine Augenlider sind ölig und essen Augenmakeup durch die Lidfalte zum Frühstück. Deswegen die Base. Sicher ist sicher.  Als nächstes folgt ein dezenter Lidstrich nah am oberen Wimpernkranz. Der wird dann noch etwas gesmudgt und verdichtet so meine Wimpern etwas. Urban Decays 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition eignet sich dafür hervorragend. Er sieht natürlich aus und bleibt den ganzen Tag über an Ort und Stelle. Habe ihn mal als Goodie zu einer Bestellung bei Douglas bekommen. Thank God für die Goodies von Douglas. Hätte ja vorher niemand ahnen können wie gut diese Stifte sind. 

Meine Wimpern sind neben den Augenringen meine großen Sorgenkinder. Sie sind kurz, spärlich gesäht und gerade. Sie in Form zu biegen erfordert Muskelkraft und Geduld. Meine aktuelle Wimpernzange habe ich bei TKMaxx gefunden. Ich kann leider keinen Vergleich zu Shu Umeras legendärem Eyelash Curler ziehen, weil dieser sich leider immer noch nicht in meinem Besitz befindet, aber ich hatte auf jeden Fall schon schlechtere Exemplare. Und wenn dann die falsche Mascara daherkommt und mir den mühsam erarbeiteten Schwung wieder nimmt, möchte ich manchmal weinen. Deswegen greife ich in 99% der Fälle zu wasserfesten Mascaras. Die hält den Schwung und zur Not auch ein paar Tränen aus. Maybellines The Colossal Go Extreme Volume Waterproof  ist nach wie vor meine erste Wahl im Moment.

On to my eyes. For my eyebrows I use a super affordable Eyebrow Liner in Light Brown by H&M. My greasy eyelids are makeup eaters and therefore I need a primer, just like the 24Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer by Smashbox. Otherwise not even eyeliner will stay in place. Speaking of eyeliner. I don't wear eyeshadow very often, actually only on special occasions, but I like a bit of brown color smudged above my lash line. Therefore I use the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye pencil in Demolition. I once got this as a goodie when I ordered online from Douglas. Thank God for their goodies. 

Besides my dark circles, my lashes are something like my problem child. They are straight, short and only a few of them exist. Curling them requires some time and effort. I found my eyelash curler at my local TKMaxx and it does a decent job. Unfortunately I can't compare it to the legendary Shu Umera, but I hope I will get there any time soon. Once they are curled the right mascara is crucial. In 99 times of 100 I use a waterproof version, because other formulas just can't hold a damn curl. Right now I use Maybelline's The Colossal Go Extreme Volume Waterproof.

Zu guter letzt kommt immer noch eine dicke Schicht Lipbalm auf den trockenen Mund. Wenn mir mal nach mehr Farbe ist als meine eos Kugel hergibt, dann kommt der Benebalm von Benefit oder der Chubbystick in Bountiful Blush zum Einsatz. Und das wars dann auch. Ernsthaft.

The last step in my everyday beauty routine is a thick layer of lip balm. My lips are always dry and need some serious protection. For moisture only I reach for an eos lip balm  For a little bit more color I use Benefit's Benebalm or Clinique's Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush. And that's it. Really, that's all I use from monday till friday and sometimes even saturday.

The 90's lip for nails and cheeks

An die 90er Jahre erinnere mich eher schlecht als recht, immerhin war ich da nur zwischen 3 und 13 Jahre alt. Ich erinnere mich aber gut an die Musik der 90er: Dr. Alban, Haddaway, Fun Factory, Mr. President... Ich könnte ewig so weitermachen. In den 90er Jahren habe ich nicht nur seltsame Musik gehört, sondern auch schlimme Dinge gesehen. Leider auch an mir. Die Rede ist von Baggypants, übergroßen Pullovern mit riesigen Logos darauf und Buffalo Plateau-Tretern (ich hatte ein Exemplar in dunkelblau mit Klettverschluss). Und natürlich hatte dieses Jahrzehnt auch einen ganz speziellen Look für Haar und Gesicht. Man denke an Natalie Imbruglias Video zu Torn für eine Haarschnittinspo (ich kombinierte dazu gerne einen Zickzack-Scheitel) und stelle sich viel zu dunklen braunen Lipliner zu beigem Lippenstift vor. Genau, zum Glück ist das vorbei. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass Lipliner seitdem für eine sehr lange Zeit verschwunden waren und nur zum Einsatz kamen, wenn roter Lippenstift auf dem Programm stand. Der Lipliner (besonders in Brauntönen) versetzte viele in Angst und Schrecken und fristete ein einsames Dasein in den Beautyregalen. Aber das ist jetzt vorbei. Kylie Jenner sei Dank. Die 90er Lippe ist wieder da und brauner Lipliner und die dazugehörigen Lippenstifte werden dem Parfümerie- und Drogeriepersonal förmlich aus den Händen gerissen. Ok, vielleicht habe ich ein wenig übertrieben, aber die 90er Lippe erfreut sich auf jeden Fall wachsender Beliebtheit. Wenn ich einen Blick in meine Lippenstiftschublade werfe, dann tummeln sich da sehr viele Lippenstifte die in das 90er Farbschema passen. Es dominiert mal wärmeres, mal kühleres Rosenholz das Bild dort, aber es ist ganz sicher Rosenholz. So recht finde ich aber keinen 100%igen Ton der so richtig Kylie Jenner ist und außerdem ist das Netz schon voll mit Dupes von Catrice bis Yves Saint Laurent. Ich habe daher in meinem Kosmetikarchiv gewühlt und habe eine 90er Lippe inspirierte Nagellack-und-Rouge-Kombination herausgesucht. 

Den Anfang macht OPIs Tickle My France-y aus der La Collection de France von 2008 (große Liebe). Es ist ein kühles Nude, das irgendwie auch ein bisschen rosig ist und einen ganz, ganz feinen Lilastich hat. Ich habe Tickle My France-y in dieser Woche getragen und bin so darin verliebt, wie man es nur sein kann. Perfekt dazu passt MACs Powder Blush in Mocha. Ist ebenfalls relativ kühl (jedenfalls auf meiner bleichen Haut) und schön matchy-matchy.

Weil die 90er Lippe viele Gesichter hat und gerne auch etwas wärmer daherkommen kann, habe ich noch ein bisschen tiefer in der Trickkiste gewühlt und eine zweite Farbkombination aufgetrieben. Wer an sich lieber warme Töne sieht, dem empfehle ich an dieser Stelle OPIs Barefoot in Barcelona aus der Coleccion de España 2009. Ein schönes Nude mit warmen Untertönen. Es geht schon deutlicher in die Richtung Braun, und ist dabei sehr hübsch anzuschauen. Ein Blush das so so gut dazu passt ist der Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in der Farbe 01 Amp'd Up Apple. Ja, das ist wahrscheinlich mein liebstes Rouge (hier und hier schon lang und breit davon geschwärmt), wird hier aber aufgrund der Farbe erwähnt. Und ich muss gestehen, dass ich mich habe hinreißen lassen und noch einen passenden Lippenstift herausgesucht habe. Wenn in diesem Post schon die 90er Lippe (wie oft kann dieses Wort in nur einem Beitrag genannt werden?) vorkommt, dann sollte sie das auch tatsächlich tun, sonst fehlt dem Ganzen ja auch irgendwie die Daseinsberechtigung. Der Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick in Antique Rose geht mit Barefoot in Barcelona und Amp'd Up Apple eine liebevolle Gemeinschaft warmer 90er Töne ein. Das dürfte Kylie Jenner doch auch ganz gut gefallen.

Actually I wanted to name this post Five shades of the 90's lip, but neither have I  read the books nor have watched the movie yet and so there's no point in talking about things you have no clue about. What I know is, that the 90's fashion and make up are having a major comeback. I remember these specific years as follows: I had a hair cut like Natalia Imbruglia in her video Torn, wore baggy pants, oversized sweaters with huge logos prints on it, buffalo platform boots and dark brown lipliner with much lighter lipstick (To my excuse: I did this just a couple of times, because I was more into pink and purple eye shadow at that time). Wow, this already sounds so wrong. And it even looked worse. At least the music was fun. I can still sing along to everything Dr.Alban, Mr. President, Haddaway or Fun Factory released at that time. Not only because the lyrics were so simple that even I could have written them. 

But back to makeup: After the 90's abuse of dark lipliner I feel like people were afraid of lining their lips for a very long time. Just the thought of using it caused some kind of trauma. Red lipstick was the only exception I guess. But thanks to Kylie Jenner, lip liners and 90's colored lipsticks are back. Now that MAC's Twig, Velvet Teddy and Brave are having a moment, I thought that its time to check my beauty drawers for 90's related shades. There are lots of brownish rosewood colored lip products in my stash, but I want something more. How about a 90's lip inspired nail and blush combination?

Let's start with OPI's Tickle My France-y from their La Collection de France 2008 (aka one of the best ever). It is a rather cold pinkish nude with a barely there purple undertone. I wore it this week and I am madly in love with it. So pretty. If you want a matching cheek color I suggest you go with MAC's Powder Blush in Mocha. If you're more into warmer shades I can happily recommend OPI's Barefoot in Barcelona from their Coleccion de España 2009. A warm brownish nude. Perfectly along with it goes Clinique's Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in 01 Amp'd Up Apple. Yes, I know I already raved about it before (for evidence take a look at this and this), but today it's just about color. And because I have mentioned the term 90's lip at least ten times in this post, I can't leave you without an actual 90's lip. So I swatched everything in my lipstick drawer and came up with this: The perfect warm 90's lip shade I own is the Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick in Antique Rose.

What's in my bag?

What's in my bag?-posts lese ich auf anderen Blogs super gerne. Meistens bewegen sich die dort gezeigten Inhalte irgendwo zwischen "Ja guck, das hab ich auch immer dabei" , "Gute Idee, sollte ich vielleicht auch mal einpacken" oder "Wer braucht denn sowas?" Also dachte ich, dass es an der Zeit ist mal den Inhalt meiner Tasche auf den Tisch zu legen.

Dieser besteht natürlich aus allerlei Beautykram. Ganz vorne mit dabei sind besonders viele Lippenprodukte. Irgendwie brauche ich immer die Sicherheit für alle möglichen Situationen gewappnet zu sein. Wer weiß, eventuell brauche ich ganz schnell rote Lippen, weil ich ja spontan noch zu einem ultra schicken Event eingeladen werden könnte. Rein theoretisch. Aber fangen wir von vorne an...

Most of the time other people's stuff fits into three categories: "I have the exact thing in my bag", "Well, that's a good idea, I should think about getting this, too" or "Who needs something like this at all?". So its time to give you a little sneak peak into my bag. Maybe my stuff fits into one of your categories.

Die Tasche die mich im Moment oft begleitet ist ein Geburtstagsgeschenk von meinem boyfriend. Die bucket bag von Steffen Schraut ist groß und geräumig und super bequem zu tragen. Sie beherbergt eine Fülle von Dingen, die man gerne den oben genannten Kategorien zuordnen kann. Unter anderem diese hier: 

The bag I carry with me most of the time right now is a late birthday gift I got from my boyfriend. Every girl needs at least one bucket bag in her life and mine is by Steffen Schraut. Its comfortable to wear and offers enough room for all of the stuff shown in these pictures.

Immer mit dabei ist mein Terminkalender (so fern ich ihn nicht wieder verliere) und natürlich auch ein Stift, damit ich meine Termine nicht per Gedankenübertragung notieren muss. Habs mal versucht, aber war nur semi-erfolgreich. Natürlich kann es nicht irgend ein beliebiger Stift sein. Es muss schon ein Kugelschreiber in Lippenstiftform sein. Nicht wegzudenken ist auch ein Haargummi. Ich benutze derzeit die elastischen Ringe von invisibobble. Denn auch wenn ich morgens mit offener Mähne aus dem Haus gehe und die Motivation hoch ist, mache ich spätestens nachmittags einen Samuraiknödel aka Dutt daraus. Taschentücher dürfen natürlich auch nicht fehlen, besonders keine mit Spider-Man Motiv. Eine Duftminiatur wird ebenfalls so gut wie immer (oder so oft ich daran denke, also eher geht so oft) eingepackt. Aktuell nehme ich gerne Daisy Eau so Fresh von Marc Jacobs, weil ich diesen Duft auch im großen Flakon besitze, ihn zwischendurch dann auffrischen kann und so nicht unwillkürlich komische Duftkompositionen erfinde. Lesestoff und Kopfhörer, hier in einer girly girl Farbe erklären sich ja von selbst.

Always in my bag is my calendar (as long as I don't put it somewhere else and it won't bee seen ever again) and of course I need a pen to write down my meetings. I tried it with telepathy but I prefer to use this lip stick shaped pen instead. One thing I always carry with me, either in my bag or on my wrist is a hair tie. New in are the hair ties by invisibobble. I often leave the house wearing my hair down, but some time around noon I feel an irresistible urge to tie my hair into a messy bun. Spider-Man tissues are also a must. A sample of the fragrance I'm wearing that day is something I tend to pack in my bag when I'm having a long day ahead of me. I really like Daisy Eau so Fresh by Marc Jacobs, because its not overpowering and puts me in a good mood. The latest issue of Vogue and some girly girl headphones need no further explanation I think.

Handcremes stapeln sich bei mir und ich kaufe ständig neue, aber diese hier werde ich trotzdem immer wieder nachkaufen. Ich bin ganz verrückt nach der Coconut Handcreme von The Body Shop. Die Tube erinnert mich an Künstlerfarben, die Creme ist leicht und zieht schnell ein ohne dabei einen fiesen Fettfilm auf den Handinnenflächen zu hinterlassen und sie duftet himmlisch. Sollte ich die mal vergessen, schütte ich panisch grundsätzlich den kompletten Inhalt meiner Tasche aus und durchsuche nochmal jeden Winkel. Das wird dann gefolgt von einem verdammt a la Homer Simpson.

Noch eine Portion Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream auf die Nagelhaut auftragen und ich kann mich endlich meinen Lippen widmen. Die bekommen abwechselnd transparente Pflege durch meinen coconut milk eos lip balm, einen leichten Schimmer in Rosé mit dem Hydra Chrono Lippenbalsam von Lierac oder eine alltagstaugliche Rottönung mit dem Benebalm von Benefit.

I don't know when it happened, but I collect hand creams. Its not like I decided to start collecting them, it just happened by accident. Right now there is one I reach for most of the time: Currently I am obsessed with the Coconut hand cream by The Body Shop. I like the packaging, the lightweight formula and the scent. I panic when I think that I might have forgotten it at home or in another bag. Yes, its that good. Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is hydrating, a bit greasy and smells amazing, this is a must for dry cuticles. The lip balms I reach for most of the time are my coconut milk eos lip balm, Lierac's Hydra Chrono lip balm which adds a hint of color to the lips or my Benefit Benebalm for a just bitten, snow white pout (pun intended).

Und weil wir grad schon beim Thema sind, geht es hier auch gleich weiter mit Lippenprodukten. Der Eclat Minute Embellisseur Lèvres von Clarins in der Farbe 06 Rosewood Shimmer findet sich wahrscheinlich in sehr, sehr vielen Taschen wieder. Der NYX Butter Gloss in der Farbe Angel Food Cake ist auch ein alltime Favorit der einfach nie fehlen darf. Auch wenn ich eher seltener zu Lipgloss greife, aber die Farbe ist einfach zu schön um nicht ab und zu getragen zu werden. Leider gibt es Angel Food Cake immer noch nicht in Deutschland zu kaufen, aber für solche Fälle gibt es eBay. Genau so schön wie der Butter Gloss ist mein Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush, der dem Butter Gloss ziemlich ähnlich ist, nur auf den Glanz verzichtet, weswegen ich nicht auf ihn verzichten kann. Und um wenigstens noch ein wenig echte Farbe in die Rosenholzrunde zu werfen ist, auch ein Mini Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato vertreten. Meine Augenringe sind hartnäckig und winken mir spätestens nachmittags beim Blick in den Spiegel wieder munter zu, deswegen ist Concealer unentbehrlich. Der Instant Anti-Age Effekt Löscher von Maybelline macht seinen Job gut und ist daher herzlich eingeladen in meiner Handtasche Platz zu nehmen.

And because there are even more lip products in my bag (and I still feel like there is always something missing), lets continue with these cuties. I can imagine that this one can be found in a lot of bags: Its the Eclat Minute Embellisseur Lèvres by Clarins. I like the shade 06 rosewood shimmer, because I have a thing for anything with "rosewood" in it, especially because it is accompanied by a rosy-beige or mauveish color. I don't often wear lipgloss, but this shade is so pretty that I just have to wear it from time to time. Its the NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake. Unfortunately this particular shade isn't available in Germany, but thats what ebay is for. Very similar to Angel Food Cake, but not as glossy or shiny is Clinique's Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush. And to throw a little bit of color into this rosy beige party crowd I would like to introduce you to Clinique's Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato (shown here in its mini version). Although the bags under my eyes are Prada, I still like to cover them up. They always need the limelight and so my dark circles will show up again not later than noon. Then its time for Maybelline's Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Concealer to take over and make me pretty again. 

Inspired by Marsala

Jedes Jahr ernennt das Pantone Color Institute die Farbe des Jahres. Diese soll dann ein Jahr lang den Ton angeben in der Beauty und Fashionindustrie. 2014 hat man mir mit radiant orchid absolut keinen Gefallen getan. Die Farbe erinnerte mich an meine Jugend als Lidschattensünderin oder um noch deutlicher zu werden: Lila Lidschatten bis fast zur Braue auftragen, weil das so schön mit grünen Augen harmoniert. Ich war jung und brauchte das Make up. In diesem Jahr möchte ich Pantone gern ein high Five für eine großartige Farbwahl geben. Marsala passt, wie ich finde, nicht nur toll in die Herbst- und Wintersaison, sondern auch großartig zum 70er Jahre Revival das wir in diesem Jahr und Sommer erleben. Auch wenn ich mich noch mit der Schlaghose anfreunden muss, liebe ich den high waist Schnitt, die Schlapphüte, die Vorliebe für Wildleder und den Zeitgeist dieser Ära. Deswegen gehen meine Daumen hoch für Marsala, das wunderschöne Rotbraun. Vielleicht geht auch das eine oder andere Glas gefüllt mit Marsala hoch, ist ja ursprünglich eine Weinsorte. Jedenfalls habe ich mich in meiner Beautysammlung auf der Suche nach Marsalatönen umgesehen und bin tatsächlich fündig geworden. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich den Ton zu einhundert Prozent getroffen habe, aber ich habe versucht mich inspirieren zu lassen und präsentiere hier meine Ausbeute: Zum einen habe ich eine Lippenstift und Nagellackkombo im Angebot und zum anderen noch einen hübschen Marsalaton für die Augen. Für einen matchy matchy Look wie aus dem Bilderbuch, empfehle ich Opi I'm Suzi and I'm a Chocoholic (leider limitiert) für die Nägel (Essie Chocolate Cakes geht in einer ähnliche Richtung, ist aber dunkler und nicht so bräunlich) und den Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in der Farbe 02 Chunkiest Chili für einen weinroten Kussmund. Dazu nur ein bisschen Mascara und betonte Augenbrauen und fertig.
Etwas dramatischer wirkt Marsala auf den Augenlidern. Ich habe dazu den KIKO 136 Pearly Bordeaux Eye Shadow aus den Tiefen meiner längst vergessenen Lidschattenschublade gekramt. Vielleicht geht es ein wenig zu sehr in die Bordeaux-Richtung, aber wenn ich mir die Nuancen der Sephora + Pantone Universe Facets of Marsala Multi-Finish Eye Palette so anschaue, dann liege ich mit meiner Wahl gar nicht so falsch. Im Alltag sieht Pearly Bordeaux als Lidstrich getragen sensationell aus und wenn es etwas mehr sein darf, dann wirkt der Ton in Kombination mit Braun oder Schwarz richtig fancy. Ich weiß leider nicht, ob die Farbe noch erhältlich ist, alternativ sieht MAC Cranberry aber auch mehr als hübsch aus. Natürlich macht Marsala auch vor Kleiderschränken nicht halt und ich bin mir sicher, dass sich das ein oder andere Teil noch bei mir einfinden wird oder vielleicht sogar schon hat. Ich sollte einfach mal wieder shoppen gehen in meinem Schrank.


Every year the Pantone Color Institute chooses one color to rule the world. Or at least the beauty and fashion industry. Last year they decided that the force may be with radiant orchid aka color of my childhood make up nightmares. Purple eye shadow all over the lid doesn't only sound very unflattering, it also looked unflattering. But on to 2015. This year Pantone made a good choice by giving the crown to Marsala, a rich red-brown shade which should now be seen on faces and bodies all over the world. I'll raise my glass of Marsala wine to drink to that, Pantone. This shade will accompany this year's 70ies revival with it's flared pants (I will have to get used to it), suede leather, wide brimmed hats and all that glitz and glam of that era.
So I checked my beauty stash for Marsala inspired colors and came up with three products which seem to fit in the red-brown color palette.
If you're looking for a pretty nail and lip combo I highly recommend OPI I'm Suzi and I'm a Chocoholic (it was discontinued I think) for your nails (you can also go for Essie's Chocolate Cakes, it is a tad darker though and with less brown undertones) and Clinique's Chubby Stick Intense in the shade 02 Chunkiest Chili for a vampy red-brown pout. Although its a bit matchy matchy, its not awkward like some other combinations I've seen lately.
As you may already know I'm not an eyeshadow kind of girl, but I do have a drawer with pencils, eye liners, shadows and palettes to play around with. I even found a marsalaish eye shadow to test drive the trend on my eyes. KIKO's Eye Shadow in 136 Pearly Bordeaux is more red than brown, but I feel like Sephora + Pantone Universe Facets of Marsala Multi-Finish Eye Palette features colors with some similar vibe. In the daytime I use Pearly Bordeaux as an eye liner for a subtle look. If you want more drama I recommend to pair it with brown or black for a more sophisticated eye make up. I just realized that 136 might be no longer available at KIKO, you can try MAC Cranberry instead. Next thing on my to do list is to get some Marsala into my closet. Maybe I do already own a piece or two and simply forgot about it. Time for some shopping in my own closet.

Als ich im August meinen ersten Cheek Colour Balm kaufte und ihn hier vorstellte, war ich schon völlig aus dem Häuschchen. Damals ahnte ich auch noch nicht, dass dieses Rouge mein treuster Beigleiter werden würde. Ich benutze Amp'd Up Apple so gut wie täglich. Es ist nicht so, dass ich nicht genügend andere Alternativen zur Auswahl hätte, aber in vier oder fünf von sieben Fällen greife ich zu dem praktischen Stick. Warum? Ganz einfach: Die Farbe sieht aufgetragen absolut natürlich aus und ich kann sie im Nu mit dem Finger verwischen. Das klappt auch wenn die Foundation noch nicht ganz trocken ist. Das Rouge pappt dann nicht so auf den Wangen wie es mit Puderrouge häufig der Fall ist.

Als Clinique neulich ein kleines Gewinnspiel veranstaltete, konnte ich nicht widerstehen und habe den Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in der Farbe 04 Plumped Up Peony ergattern können (Mein erster Gewinn ever juhuuu). Vielen Dank nochmal an Clinique:) 

Plumped Up Peony ist die perfekte Herbst-/Winterfarbe. Ein nicht zu dunkler Pflaumenton, der auf den Wangen aber auch nicht zu geschminkt aussieht und den sogar Blassnasen wie ich gut tragen können. Geswatcht auf meinem leichenhaften Unterarm, weil der meiner Gesichtsfarbe sehr nahe kommt. Der Auftrag ist kinderleicht und das Ergebnis überzeugt auch nach einem langen Tag. 

Und das Beste: Der Cheek Colour Balm hält gefühlt eine Ewigkeit. Ich verglich den neuen Stick mit seinem Vorgänger, um zu sehen wie viel Produkt ich schon verbraucht habe. Und siehe da, der Unterschied ist minimal. Ich konnte meinen Augen kaum trauen. Ich habe bereits erwähnt, dass ich Amp'd Up Apple benutze wie verrückt. Die Hälfte hätte also locker verbraucht sein müssen. Jetzt ist mein Schicksal auf jeden Fall besiegelt: Die anderen erhältlichen Farben müssen auch noch in meinen Besitz übergehen. 

Since I bought my first Cheek Colour Balm back in August, read all about it here, I was hooked. Back then I didn't know that this would be my go to blush. I'm using Amp'd Up Apple like crazy. Nearly every day and when I say nearly everyday I mean at least four or five days out of seven. I do have a lot of other options, but somehow I reach to my chubby stick most of the time. The reasons are simple: It's ridiculously easy to use and looks perfectly natural. I like this non powdery look a lot and I can apply it while my foundation is still drying and the blush still looks even. 

So when Clinique had a little give away going on last week I couldn't resist, took part and won a Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in 04 Plumped Up Peony (first time ever that I won something yaaaaay). Huge Thanks to Clinique! This plumy rose is great for fall and winter and adds the right amount of "I've been out in the snow for a while"- flush and looks natural even on pale faces like mine. I swatched it on my under arm because the paleness there matches my face color best. But the best thing: Although I've been using this a lot, there's still so much product left in the tube. I first realized it when I compared Amp'd Up Apple to my brand new Plumped Up Peony Cheek Balm. It looks as if I haven't used it at all, not even half is gone. Amazing. Now I definitely need the other colors. ASAP.

Chubby Stick? Ist doch ein alter Hut! Denkste! Nach den jetzt schon legendären Chubby Sticks für die Lippen, kommt nun (als absolut logische Konsequenz) auch Rouge aus den speckigen Stiften. Muss man das haben? Und ob man das haben muss! Vier gute Gründe: 1. Super praktisch, weil gewohnte Stiftform. 2. Perfekte Pigmentierung, weil man nach einem Tupfer nicht gleich aussieht wie mal wieder im Dunkeln mit Theaterschminke geschminkt. Schichten ist auch kein Problem. 3. Absolut natürliches Finish. 4. Cream to powder Konsistenz. Erklärt sich von selbst, weil die (für mich) beste Konsistenz bei Cremerouge. Wenn jemand anderer Meinung ist, soll er bitte jetzt sprechen oder für immer schweigen.

Als vor einigen Wochen die ersten Reviews auf internationalen Blogs auftauchten, war ich sofort angefixt. Gleich darauf habe ich Clinique angeschrieben und die Rückmeldung erhalten, dass die neuen Sticks ab September erhältlich sein werden. Buuuuh. Aber misstrauisch wie ich bin, habe ich täglich den Clinique Online Shop gecheckt und siehe da: Dienstag Abend war er schon erhältlich (September ist echt früh dran in diesem Jahr) und keine Minute später in meinem Warenkorb. Ich konnte mich bei den vier Farben schwer entscheiden und nach einem heißen Kopf an Kopf-Rennen mit Robust Rhubarb hat Amp'd Up Apple sich durchgesetzt. Am Donnerstag war das Päckchen auch schon da und ich hab mich gefreut wie ein Schnitzel. Ein bisschen auch wegen der vielen Goodies. Ich liebe Goodies.

Der Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm steckt in der typischen Chubby Hülle, die farblich an die Nuance des Rouges angepasst ist. Der Umfang ist natürlich deutlich dicker als bei den Lippies, weil es ja auch mehr Fläche zu bepinseln gibt. Die Konsistenz ist cremig, verschmilzt aber auf der Haut und wird pudrig. Sieht absolut natürlich aus und ist weder matt noch schimmernd. Die Farbe 01 Amp'd Up Apple ist ein rosiges Beige, das einen leichten Glow verleiht. Optimal für den Alltag oder um kräftigere AMUs oder Knalllippen auszugleichen. Amp'd Up Apple hält auf der Haut etwa 6-8 Stunden ohne fleckig zu werden. Da es zum Auffrischen aber nicht viel braucht, ist die Tragezeit ok. 

Preislich liegen die Chubby Sticks für die Wangen bei 27€ für 6g. Robust Rhabarb und Plumped Up Peony werden wohl demnächst auch bei mir anziehen. Und vielleicht auch noch einer der neuen Baby Tints. Ganz schön clever von Clinique...die Chubby Abhängigkeit mit gleich zwei neuen Produkten weiter zu füttern. Die Chubby Sticks hat doch der Teufel gemacht...

We all know and some love and some hate, Clinique's Chubby Sticks. I have several of them and love all of them. So what's next? Chubby Sticks for cheeks. That's what the world has been waiting for. Now you ask yourself: "Do I need them?" Oh yes, you do! Here are four good reasons: 1. It's a stick. Means: so easy to use. 2. Great pigmentation. You don't look like a clown after one swipe and can layer if needed. 3. Very natural finish. 4. Cream to powder formula. For me it's the best you can get with cream blush. Anyone who disagrees? No? Good.

Some time ago I spotted first reviews on international blogs and immediately felt a strong desire to own all of the new cheek color balms. Clinique told me that in Germany they will be released in September. I was sad and needed a cookie. But as you know, I don't trust the beauty industry. Just kidding, but I don't believe in release dates. So I checked Clinique's online shop daily (my usual stalking habbit) and on tuesday they arrived. September, huh? So I ordered Amp'd Up Apple (Robust Rhubarb you are next) and a bunch of goodies. Man, I love goodies. Thursday was delivery day and here we go: 

Clinique's Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm looks just like the regular Chubby Stick lip balm, but is larger. It's creamy but feels powdery and very soft on the skin. 01 Amp'd Up Apple is a rosy/tawny beige and isn't too matte or shimmery. In fact it has a satin finish. I think this will look great with a smokey eye or bold lip, because the color is neutral and doesn't steal the spotlight of a more dramatic look. It lasts for about 6-8 hours on me without looking patchy. It fades evenly and touch ups couldn't be easier. 

In Germany 6g retail for 27€. I think I will add Robust Rhubarb and Plumped Up Peony to my blush collection. Oh and at least one shade of the new Baby Tints. The folks at Clinique are so clever. Feeding my Chubby Stick addiction with not just one but two new products. Damn it.

Manchmal surfe ich stundenlang auf Sephora.com und packe mir den Warenkorb voll mit Dingen, die wir hier nicht haben. Es ist eigentlich auch immer etwas von Philosophy dabei. Dann träume ich und stelle mir vor, wie das Vanilla Birthday Cake Duschgel wohl riechen mag und dann läuft mir das Wasser im Mund zusammen. Während ich neulich mal wieder träumte, habe ich bei TkMaxx das granny's apple pie shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath entdeckt und musste es eintüten. Wo ist das Geruchsinternet wenn man es braucht? Das riecht wirklich nach Apfelkuchen. Nicht nach künstlichem Apfelkuchen oder so in etwa Apfelkuchen. Nein, es riecht nach warmem Apfelkuchen (keine Anspielung auf American Pie an dieser Stelle), der grad frisch aus dem Ofen kommt. Wahnsinn. Und jetzt möchte ich echten Kuchen. Mist. Auf die Tastatur gesabbert.

I often wondered why there are no Philosophy products available in Germany. When I search Sephora's online shop for all the things we don't have, I always wanted to have one of Philosophy's 3 in 1 products. TKMaxx answered my prayers, so it seems. At least that's where I found granny's apple pie shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath. I'm not kidding when I say, that I have to keep myself from drinking it. It smells like real apple pie. Not artificial or just sweet like others. It's granny's apple pie in a bottle. Or a slice of heaven packed in plastic.

Wann weiß man dass man einen großartigen Boyfriend? Genau, wenn er einem das MAC Powder Blush in Mocha schenkt, das schon lange auf der Wunschliste steht. Und wann weiß man, dass man den allerbesten Boyfriend der Welt hat? Richtig, wenn er sich gemerkt hat, dass man irgendwann in einem Nebensatz "Malice von Chanel muss ich auch haben" gesagt hat und dann genau dieses Rouge besorgt. Was soll ich sagen, der Mann weiß was er tut.

Did I mention, that my boyfriend is THE best boyfriend ever? No, well it's about time! For our anniversary we decided to surprise each other with things from our wish lists. The MAC powder blush in Mocha has been on my wish list forever. But he wanted to put a little extra smile on my face and got me Chanel's Malice powder blush as well. I just once mentioned it while talking to a friend and I didn't thought that he was paying attention at all. He did and now Malice and Mocha have found a new home in my blush collection. They fit in just right.

Neulich lief bei Douglas eine nette Aktion zum Tag des Kusses: Für jede Beautybestellung ab 15€ gab es einen Clinique Long Last Lipstick Soft Shine in der Farbe All Heart gratis dazu. Da ich sowieso Parfum für meine Mama bestellen wollte und ich den Eclat Minute von Clarins schon länger im Warenkorb liegen hatte (und es auf diesen auch noch Rabatt gab), griff ich zu.
Der Eclat Minute ist ja schon länger ein Dauerbrenner auf Blogs und überhaupt. So richtig angefeixt hat mich allerdings erst die liebe Brini (wie so oft in letzter Zeit) und nun trage ich meinen Lip Perfector in der Farbe Rosewood Shimmer (Überraschung) mindestens ein mal täglich auf.

Den Long Last Lipstick Soft Shine in All Heart finde ich gar nicht mal so schlecht. Die Farbe ist hübsch, hat aber auch ein wenig 90s vibe. Durch den leichten Schimmer vielleicht? Ich stelle mir dazu mom jeans, ein bauchfreies Top und Musik von Salt 'n' Pepa vor. Pust it, push it real good.

Some time ago Douglas was offering a full-size Clinique Long Last Lipstick Soft Shine in All Heart as a free gift on all beauty orders above 15€. I wanted to buy my mum's favorite fragrance anyway and so I had another reason to finally get me one of the famous Eclat Minute by Clarins. I had to see for myself if they are worth the hype and what can I say? I apply it once a day. At least. I ordered mine in a shade called rosewood shimmer. It's in the name, I guess. I just love anything rosewood.

The Long Last Soft Shine lipstick in All Heart isn't that bad. I have no issues with the formula, but I feel like the color has a strong 90s vibe. You know when they were wearing brown or shimmering red lip sticks and all kinds of mom jeans and short tops. I believe that the Salt 'n ' Pepa girls liked this one. Applying All Heart while singing push it or something. No?
