New soulmate? MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul

Es ist immer wieder ein Phänomen: Man entdeckt ein für sich neues Produkt und plötzlich fragt man sich, wie man bisher ohne leben konnte. So geschehen bei dem Mineralize Blush in der Farbe Warm Soul von MAC. Ich habe das Brautmakeup einer Freundin zum Anlass genommen, um mir ein neues Rouge zuzulegen und auf Warm Soul hatte ich schon ewig ein Auge geworfen. Weil Warm Soul im Standardsortiment von MAC zu finden ist, habe ich immer lieber Limited Editions oder andere Produkte vorgezogen. Jetzt schlage ich die Hände über dem Kopf zusammen und kann nicht fassen, dass es so lange gedauert hat, bis wir zwei zusammengefunden haben. Ich habe Warm Soul seit dem Kauf ungefähr täglich benutzt und obwohl ich matten Texturen meist den Vorzug gebe, bin ich dem Schimmer hier überhaupt nicht abgeneigt. Warm Soul ist eine dieser Farben, die man besitzen sollte, weil sie zu allem passt. Wie schwarze Pumps oder eine schwarze Lederjacke oder eben das kleine Schwarze. Genau das ist es: Warm Soul ist wie das kleine Schwarze, geht einfach immer. Und nun betrachten wir es bitte in seiner vollen Schönheit. 

You know what's funny? When you discover a product that is new to you (but has been sitting on MAC's shelves since the early days of mankind) and you suddenly question how you could exist without it. This pretty much sums up my feelings about the Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul. I have been eyeing it for a long time and finally ordered it. I used a friend's bridal makeup as an excuse to justify my order, by the way. I have used it on a daily basis since it arrived and I'm sure that I won't stop wearing it anytime soon. Warm Soul is like my blush soulmate right now although it has a fine shimmer that would normally scare me off, because I'm more into matte textures. But the shade and the shimmer warm up the cheeks so naturally that Warm Soul is an excellent and foolproof choice that can be paired with any type of makeup. Consider it the little black dress of your blush wardrobe.

Ich möchte hier gar keine großen Worte verlieren, nur kurz erklären, warum ich vor einiger Zeit dezent ausgerastet bin. Mein Cousin aus NYC hat uns neulich besucht und sich bereit erklärt, mir ein paar Dinge mitzubringen. Meine einzige Aufgabe bestand darin, meinen Warenkorb bei Sephora zu füllen und das gute Zeug zu ihm schicken zu lassen. Ein Knochenjob. Ich möchte bitte trotzdem nicht bemitleidet werden. 

Natürlich habe ich nur Dinge bestellt, die es bei uns nicht gibt und die Sephora teilweise nicht nach Deutschland verschickt. So wie die Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, die es ja bereits zu sehen gab. 

Wie ich schon öfter erwähnt habe, bin ich besessen von Minis. Ich liebe Reisegrößen. Ich weiß nicht, ob es eine Art Mutterinstinkt in mir weckt, aber sobald es Beautystuff in samplesize gibt, bin ich an Bord. Nein, ich steure dieses Schiff sogar als Kapitän. Kein Wunder also, dass mir das Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Set nur so ins Auge sprang: Fünf Minis und ein Fullsize Lippenstift. Oh yes, komm zu Mama. Wenn man die Teile dann noch in einer lippenförmigen Schachtel verpackt, gibt es kein Halten mehr. Deckel runter und begutachten: Enthalten ist ein Mini Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose. Ich muss meine Liebe für die Fresh Sugar Treatments nicht nochmal ausschweifend behandeln, oder? Oder doch? Naaaah, hier wurde bereits alles gesagt. Dann hätten wir noch einen Mini Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Créme in Je T'aime. An dieser Stelle habe ich die Lip Créme bereits reviewed und auch wenn die Farbe genau in mein Beuteschema passt, für meine trockenen Lippen muss vor dem Tragen eine Schicht lip balm drunter. Von Make Up For Ever gab es einen Artist Plexi-Gloss in 202 und holy shit, ist der klebrig. Ich habe leider eine sehr schwach ausgeprägte 'klebriger Lipgloss-Grenze' und die ist hier ganz klar erreicht. Es wäre natürlich kein Sephora Favorites kit, wenn Sephora nicht auch ein Produkt der Eigenmarke untermischen würde. Auf das/die? the (ah, so geht's) Rouge Infusion Lip Ink in 16 Peony war ich mal so gar nicht gespannt. Gähn, laaaaangweilig. Und siehe da, im Leben kommt erstens immer alles anders und zweitens als man denkt. Mega gute Konsistenz, tolle Farbe und den stain musste ich nach dem swatchen auf meiner Hand mit Nagellackentferner bearbeiten. Wenn ich ihn auftrage, er über nacht langsam verblasst, und meine  Lippen morgens immer noch leicht rosa sind, kann ich ohne schlechtes Gewissen ein Foto mit dem hashtag #iwokeuplikethis posten. Der enthaltene Full Size Lippenstift ist ein Amazonian Butter Lipsick von Tarte in der Farbe Coral Blossom= hello neue Frühlingsfarbe. Die Verpackung ist zum dahinschmelzen, wenn auch ultra unpraktisch, weil bunter Karton. Echt jetzt. Nun aber zur größten Enttäuschung: Der Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita von Kat von D. Was wurde diese Farbe gehyped, der Bestand leer geplündert und auch ich wollte ihn schon zig mal bestellen. Die Farbschwankungen, die es offensichtlich aber immer mal wieder gab, konnten mich gerade noch davon abhalten. Gut so. In der jetzigen Form ist Lolita für mich nämlich ein absoluter Fehlgriff. Aufgetragen sehe ich tot aus. Wasserleichenmäßig. Halloweenstyle. Kinderschreck.

Das Set ist mittlerweile nicht mehr erhältlich, die Produkte einzeln natürlich schon. Bis auf den Artist Plexi-Gloss (sorry, Make Up For Ever, ich weiß, dass ihr's besser könnt) und Lolita, kommen alle eine Runde weiter. 

I don't want to talk too much about this right now, but just let me give you a brief introduction into why I jumped up and down the other day and next day and next day. Some time ago my cousin from New York visited us and was kind enough to bring some goodies with him. All I had to do was place all the good stuff in my shopping basket at Sephora.com, make my way to the checkout and  let Thomas bring all of it with him. I mostly focused on beauty stuff that is not available around my parts or Sephora refuses to ship to Germany. The Bite Beauty Agave lip mask was just the beginning my friends. Unfortunately this cute little set isn't available anymore, but you're of course invited to buy the pieces individually. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the über popular Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip kits and I'm very pleased with what's inside. Six lip products (five deluxe samples and a full size) are packed in a lip shaped box. Come on, lip products in a lip shadped box, that's kinda genius. There we have a Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Créme in Je T'aime. Gorgeous shade. If you have a look at  this post, all questions on the formula should be answered. The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose is a no brainer, because I loooooove their treatments. Need proof? Here's all you need to know. Because its a Sephora Favorites kit, they obviously had to throw something of their own into the mix. I didn't think much of the Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Ink in Peony, but it became an instant favorite. Great texture and such a lovely color. See the stain it leaves behind? I had to bring on my nail polish remover to get this off my skin. Beware of the stain, folks. Just leave it on when its bedtime, it will fade while you're asleep and when you wake up in the morning it will still be there and you'll be in full on #iwokeuplikethis mode. I am not a lipgloss girl and unfortunately the Make up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in 202 couldn't change that. I just take no pleasure in sticky lip product formulas. Sorry, Make Up For Ever, I know you can do better. The one full size product in this kit is the Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom. Pretty summer shade and the packaging is just too cute. But don't get fooled, it looks fancy but it's actually sturdy paper. The one thing I was the most excited about was the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. I saw every beauty blogger raving about this formulas, literally every beauty blogger on this earth. And Lolita was so hyped and always out of stock that it made me extremely suspicious. What's the fuss all about? Well, now I know. The formula may be great and all, but Lolita looks like Halloween makeup on me. Seriously, I look dead, ghostlike. My neighbor's kid was afraid of me when I wore this on my lips. I think I got one of the Lolita's from the third batch, you know, the one where supposedly everything went wrong. Because really, this color just looks wrong on me. The one time I swatched it on my lips I looked in the mirror and the color was looking at me like "nice try girl, but hell no. Do us both a favor and take this off. Now."

Talking about lasting power

For the love of Bronzers and Lipsticks: H&M Beauty

Wenn es irgendwo einen großen neuen Beautylaunch gibt, bin ich immer ganz aufgeregt. Als ich die ersten Pressebilder von H&Ms neuer Beautylinie sah, war mein excitement Level schon recht hoch. Online sah auch alles ganz gut aus, aber erst als ich das neue Sortiment live gesehen habe, packte es mich. Wenn H&M eines richtig gemacht hat, dann ist es die Auswahl. Man kann sich schwer für ein Teil entscheiden. Im Bereich Foundation, Puder und Concealer ist das super, weil jeder bei einer Nuance fündig werden dürfte. Bei allem anderen erschlägt es einen fast. Es gibt so unendlich viele Farben. Ich habe mich auf direktem Wege auf die Lippenstifte gestürzt und die für mich schönste Nuance herausgepickt. Insgesamt konnte ich mich auf drei Teile einlassen: 

Den Cream Lip Colour in Deco Ruby, den Lip Fixation Primer und den Solar Flair Bronzing Powder in Sheer Tan. 

Zunächst das Offensichtliche, die Verpackung. Auch wenn es sich hier selbstverständlich um Plastik handelt, ist das Design der Produkte ziemlich chic. Schwarz, Creme und Gold sehen in Kombination auch einfach hochwertig aus. 

Auch die Detailanalyse an sich fällt für meine Teile ziemlich positiv aus. 

Der Lip Fixation Primer verlängert die Haltbarkeit des Lippenstifts enorm. Er verläuft nicht, bleibt auch nach dem Essen und Trinken deutlich sichtbar auf meinen Lippen. Einziger Minuspunkt: Er trocknet aus, wüstenmäßig. Der Lippenstift wird nach einiger Zeit matt (was ich sehr begrüße), aber eben auch trocken. Lip Balm darunter Auftragen bringt nicht sooo viel, dafür muss am nächsten Tag viel Pflege drauf. Beim Lip Primer ist daher ein wenig Hassliebe im Spiel. Würde er nicht so wunderbar nach Vanillezucker duften, würde ich ihn vielleicht ein klein wenig lieber mögen. 

Der Cream Lip Colour in Deco Ruby dagegen ist eine absolute Perle. Pigmentiert ohne Ende und ultracremig. Die Farbe ist ein kräftiges, dunkles Pink/Rot, das für mich perfekt in den Herbst passt. Auch hier ist wieder ein Hauch Vanille wahrnehmbar, aber das vergeht ganz fix. 

Das letzte Teil aus meinem H&M Beauty Einkaufskörbchen ist der Solar Flair Bronzing Powder in Sheer Tan. Alleine beim Bronzer kann man aus fünf verschiedenen Nuancen wählen. Sheer Tan erschien mir als passendste Nuance für mich. Und mein geschultes Auge täuscht sich nicht. Im Gesicht aufgetragen wirkt die feine Textur unsichtbar, aber ich deutlich lebendiger. Er krümmelt nicht, wird nicht fleckig, ist nicht orange und hat keinen offensichtlichen Schimmer. Perfekt also.

Preislich lagen alle Teile bei 10€, schon etwas weiter über dem Drogerieniveau. Dafür empfinde ich die Qualität meiner ausgewählten Produkte aber auch als völlig ok für den Preis. 

Als nächstes werde ich mir die BB Cream ansehen, weil ich die Textur beim swatchen schon irgendwie ein wenig gut fand. Der Concealer wirkte auch solide, von den Liplinern möchte ich gar nicht weiter sprechen... 

Whenever there is a major new beauty launch, I get exited. So when I saw the pictures of H&M's then upcoming new beauty line back in summer, I could barely hold myself. When the products appeared online in September I couldn't decide on just one item (we're talking 700 pieces here), but when I finally got to check out some things in store  I felt my excitement level rising within minutes. 

I ended up with exactly three things (but there's more on my wish list, naturally). 

The things I got are a Cream Lip Colour in Deco Ruby, a Lip Fixation Primer and Solar Flair Bronzing Powder in Sheer Tan. Each retails für 10€.

First things first: packaging. Of course you don't get super high quality packaging for this kind of price tag, but black, creme and gold look expensive nevertheless. 

I have a love hate relationship with the Lip Fixation Primer. It has a strong vanilla scent to it, which I love, but doesn't last long. More important: it turns your lipstick into a nearly bulletproof version of color. I wore it with the H&M lip color and experienced no smudging, no bleeding and minimal fading after drinking and eating. It makes the color matte after a while, which is a good thing in my opinion, but it's also drying. It gets five stars in the drying department. I suggest you stock up on lip balm, because if you have dry sensitive lips like mine, you will need a lot of it the next day. 

The Cream Lip Colour is amazing. It is creamy, the pigmentation is insane and it lasts for a rather long time, even without a primer. Deco Ruby is a very dark pink/red and is a great shade for fall. 

Finally the Bronzer. If you're looking for a very natural looking, shimmer free Bronzer then let me introduce you to the Solar Flair Bronzing Powder. The texture isn't too dry but fine and buttery and it doesn't look patchy on the skin. Sheer Tan is a good match for my light skin. There are five shades available, so chances are high that there's a shade for every one.

Overal I'm really impressed with the pieces I've picked up. I still have my eye on the BB Cream, which I liked texture wise when I swatched it in store. The concealers also seemed great and don't get me started on the lip pencils...

The one eye shadow to rule them all: MAC Satin Taupe

Von Beautybloggern erwartet man ja irgendwie immer, dass sie ständig top gestylt sind, fabelhafte Haut haben und absurde Lippenfarben und Lidschatten spazieren tragen. In meinem Fall sieht die Realität ganz anders aus: Ich gehe auch mal ungeschminkt raus. Ok, meistens muss wenigstens ein wenig Concealer die dunklen Augenschatten verdecken. Sonst sehe ich aus, als hätte ich die letzten 27 Jahre meines Lebens auf Ibiza gefeiert – ohne Schlaf dazwischen. Meine Haut ist zwar nicht mehr die einer aknefreien 16-Jährigen, aber bis auf die Augenringe und ein paar vergrößerte Poren kann ich mich nicht beschweren. Und bis auf ein paar Rot- und Pinktöne, besteht meine Lippenstiftschublade aus massenweise Rosenholz. Und auch für Lidschatten kann ich mich selten so richtig begeistern. Diese Tage sind vorüber und ich habe die Erinnerung daran mit viel lila Lidschatten im Mülleimer versenkt. Aber natürlich patsche ich auch mit den Fingern in den Urban Decay Naked-Tester und schmiere mir "aaaa" und "boooah schön" rufend die Arme voll, aber aufs Auge kommt davon im Endeffekt wenig. Ich finde, ein Look ist immer so sehr gemacht sobald Lidschatten ins Spiel kommt. Ist im Prinzip mit rotem Lippenstift nicht anders, aber es ist auch eher so eine Gefühlssache. Und trotzdem gibt es eine Ausnahme: Ich besitze mittlerweile nicht mehr viele Lidschatten und die meisten sind noch recht jungfräulich, aber wenn man bei einem schon den Boden sieht, dann sprechen wir hier von großer Liebe. Der eine Lidschatten um sie alle zu knechten ist für mich Satin Taupe von MAC. Diese Farbe ist so großartig, dass ich dafür tatsächlich mal den Lippenstift stehen lasse. Manchmal wird's ganz dezent und nur ein bisschen verwischt und an anderen Tagen wird mit Lidstrich und etwas Schwarz hier und da ein smokey eye draus. 

Warum Satin Taupe so toll ist, ist schnell erklärt: Diese Mischung aus Braun und Grau ist einfach perfekt und der Schimmer macht es nochmal besonders. Und er steht so ziemlich jeder Augenfarbe. Ach Satin Taupe, du schönster aller Lidschatten, lass´ dich nochmal auftragen bevor es mit dir zu Ende geht. 

When most people think of beautbloggers, images of perfect skin and colorful lips and eyes come to mind. And they wouldn't dare to leave the house without makeup. Truth is that there are days when I actually do leave the house without makeup (leave out the concealer, please) if there is a chance that I meet as less people as possible. And the perfect skin myth is relativized by my ultra dark circles and not so invisible pores around my nose. And what's up with the plum lipsticks and yellow eye lids? While my make up drawers house a small variety of red and pink and a whole lot of rosewood lipsticks, the eyeshadow section is–how should I put it–space saving?! I'm not so much into eyeshadow anymore, these days have gone with my teenage years and so often mentioned purple eyeshadow abuse. But there is this one color that will always have a special place in my heart and judging from its condition (hit the pan!) you can see that it's been loved. MAC's Satin Taupe is the one to rule them all. It's somewhere between brown and grey, suits most eye colors and has this fantastical shimmer running through it. Sometimes I use it for a slight wash of color and on other days I pair it with black liner and smudge it around for a lived in smokey eye. Either way it's perfection, trust me.

Notd: OPI Go With the Lava Flow

Im letzten Post (der ja schon wieder eine Weile zurückliegt) zeigte ich Opi's Go With the Lava Flow aus der Hawaii Kollektion. Weil dieser Lack sich in mein Herz geschlichen hat und so schön sommerlich ist, verdient er ein eigenes Posting. Wie schön knallt das bitte in der Sonne? Da bleibt einem doch die Spucke weg. Dieser Schimmer, Wahnsinn. Im Schatten ist Go With the Lava Flow nur ein schöner Koralleton. Nichts aufregendes, aber wenn dann ein Sonnenstrahl auf die Oberfläche trifft geht das goldig-schimmernde Feuerwerk los. Whoa. Zwei Schichten, Topcoat und dann bleibt der Sommer bitte noch ein bisschen länger. Ich finde, das haben wir uns verdient. 

It's been a while since my last post and because one product sneaked its way into my heart, I thought it's time to give this one five minutes of fame. Opi's Go With the Lava Flow from their Hawaii collection may just look like your average pretty summer coral. But I invite you to lean a little bit closer and watch this beauty in sunlight. It will hit you like whooooa. See what I mean? No more summery but average coral shade. Golden explosion coming right your way. All it takes is two coats of color, one coat of topcoat and summer can stay a little bit longer. Just give us a couple more hot days, September. Come on, we deserve it.

Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest

Ich habe ja schon öfter erwähnt, dass Marken die nicht in Deutschland erhältlich sind, eine ganz besondere Anziehungskraft auf mich ausüben. Manchmal muss es auch keine gesamte Produktreihe sein, sondern nur ein einzelnes Teil das es bei uns nicht gibt. So ergeht es mir beispielsweise wenn ich auf der amerikanischen Yankee Candle-Seite stöbere. Natürlich haben wir hier auch eine ganz nette Vielfalt, aber mit Cinnamon Vanilla und Cotton Candy können wir einfach nicht mithalten. Burt's Bees ist ein anderes Beispiel. Die Lippenbalsame und die getönten Versionen sind hier zwar auch erhältlich und reizen mich nach mehrmaligem Ausprobieren nun mehr wenig, aber die neuen Lip Crayons wiederum weckten ganz fix mein Interesse. Erhältlich sind sie meines Wissens seit letztem Jahr in den USA&Kanada. 

Die Lip Crayons von Burt's Bees kommen in der mittlerweile standardisierten dicken Buntstiftform a la Chubby Stick daher. Die Schutzkappe ziert ein kleines Wabenmuster, was bei Burt's Bees natürlich nicht weit hergeholt ist. Insgesamt sind sechs Farben erhältlich. Ich habe mir die Nuance Redwood Forest besorgt. Es ist ein dunkles, kräftiges Rot. Die Pigmentierung ist ziemlich gut, was man von Burt's Bees so vielleicht nicht erwartet. Der Lippenstift an sich ist geruchsneutral, was viele freuen wird. Mich dagegen eher weniger. Ich brauche einfach ein bisschen Zuckerwatte oder Zitronenlimonade in meinen Lippenprodukten. Die Haltbarkeit ist gut, Essen und Trinken machen dem Lip Crayon aber natürlich schon zu schaffen. 

Die Chubbystick Variante von Burts Bees ist ziemlich erschwinglich: 9$ kostet ein Exemplar. Ich bin gespannt, ob es die Lip Crayons irgendwann nach Deutschland schaffen oder ob auch sie der Kategorie "Oh maaaan, warum gibt es das hier nicht?" zugeordnet werden müssen. 

I often mentioned that brands which aren't available in Germany are the most interesting ones. We have tons of brands and also some which are available overseas, but still there are major differences in product ranges. Yankee Candle is a good example: We have a good variety of scents here, but whenever I check out the American website I'm like "whooooa. I need these Cinnamon Vanilla and Cotton Candy tarts". Another example is Burt's Bees. Their lip balms and tinted lip balms are available here as well, but how about their new lip crayons which are already available in the US&Canada? I haven't spotted them yet, but since I needed to give them a try I had to get my hands on at least one of them no matter how. So here we go with Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest. The packaging must be familiar by now. The lip color comes in a chubby stick like tube. The cap has this cute honeycomb structure on it, which is a reminder that Burt's Bees is all about that honey. 

There are six shades in total, I decided to give Redwood Forest a try. It's a deep red which is anything but sheer and instantly reminds me of fall. I'm perfectly aware that we're in the nearly midst of June now, but this can't wait till October. There's no detectable scent, which maybe good news for some of you and bad news for others. I just need a little bit of cotton candy or lemon cake flavor in my lip products. Lasting time is ok, but you will have to reapply the color after eating and drinking. A huge plus is that they are totally affordable. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons retail for 9$. Let's see if they will make it to the German/European market...

Stuff I love: Fresh Sugar Lip treatment

Wenn ich etwas in der Rubrik Stuff I love poste, dann muss ich eine neue Sucht entwickelt haben. Zu Opi Nagellack, Mario Badeecu Facial Spray, Erdnussbutter, Schokolade und Yankee Candles gesellen sich nun die Sugar Lip Treatments von Fresh. Die Textur, der Duft, die nicht zu dezente Farbabgabe: da stimmt für mich alles. Ich liebe Lippenbalsam grundsätzlich. In allen Farben, Formen und Geschmacksrichtungen. Und ganz besonders getönte Varianten. Auch wenn ich mittlerweile öfter Lippenstift trage erinnert mich farbiger Lip balm immer an meine Kindertage. Ich habe mit vier oder fünf meinen ersten Lippenbalsam mit Kirschduft bekommen. Der färbte meine Lippen trotz pinker Farbe zwar nicht wirklich, aber als Kind hat man ja viel Phantasie. Danach folgten einige Lip smacker, unter anderem in silbrig schimmernden Blautönen, aber das ist eine ganz andere Geschichte. Meine Liebe für Lippenbalsam ist seither ungebrochen. Und die Lip Treatments von Fresh Sugar spielen in ihrer ganz eigenen Liga. Sie stecken in dieser unfassbar schönen schimmernden Verpackung. Die Farbe des Balms spiegelt sich dementsprechend auch in der Hülse wider. 

Aber der Kern des Ganzen ist noch toller. Der Balm riecht nach Zitronentörtchen. Vielleicht auch Zitronenlimonade, aber auf jeden Fall rieche ich Zitrone. Ich sollte echt mal an meinen nicht vorhandenen Beschreibungsskills arbeiten. Gibt's da Seminare für? Auf jeden Fall riechen sie fantastisch. Die Textur ist wahnsinnig geschmeidig und gleitet nur so über die Lippen. Ich habe ja schon öfter erwähnt, dass meine Lippen extrem trocken sind und somit die ultimative Bewährungsprobe für jeden Lippenbalsam dieser Welt sind. Die Lip Treatments von Fresh haben die Lippenhaut-Sahara gut im Griff. Ich muss nicht ständig nachschmieren, auch wenn die Farbe längst verschwunden ist. Ein Segen. Und dann ist da noch der Lichtschutzfaktor 15. Und die fehlenden Sulfate, Parabene und Phthalate. Rundum perfekt, ich sags ja. Ich konnte mir bereits zwei Farben sichern: Die Miniversion in Berry habe ich vor kurzem bei Ebay ergattert und Cherry (in Full size) hat mir die liebe Jo aus New York mitgebracht. 

Berry ist ein schöner, beerig-pinker Ton, der mich erstaunlicherweise nicht blass macht. Cherry ist wie der Name schon sagt, ein klassisches intensives Rot. Es ist ein wenig deckender als Berry. Zum Vergleich habe ich auf den Bildern unten auch mal den Benebalm von Benefit geswatcht. Der macht den Unterschied in der Pigmentierung schon sehr deutlich. 

Beide Farben haben einen leichten Glanz, der aber relativ schnell verschwindet. Günstig sind die Lip Treatments nicht unbedingt. 22,50$ muss man schon für einen Stick hinblättern. Der Baume de Rose von by Terry ist preislich nochmal in einer anderen Galaxie, aber über zwanzig Mücken für einen Lippenpflegestift zu berappen fällt einfach nicht so leicht. Und easy zu bekommen sind sie auch nicht. Über Instagram habe ich von Fresh den Tipp bekommen, dass der Londoner Store auf Anfrage nach Deutschland verschickt. Nachschub werde ich auf jeden Fall brauchen. Petal, Tulip und Passion stehen noch auf der Wunschliste und ich bin da sehr ungeduldig. 

If I decide to post something in my stuff I love category, it must be a new addiction. So now besides my Mario Badescu Facial Spray and Opi nail polishes, Yankee Candles, Peanut Butter and Chocolate there are the Sugar Lip Treatments by Fresh.

It's love. I love the scent, the texture, the color. Basically everything. That's why we're here to pay homage to them. I often mentioned that I have a thing for lip balm. I love them in all sizes, shapes, colors and flavors. 

I remember receiving my first lip balm at the age of four or five. It was a pink cherry flavored no name Chapstick. Although it really didn't stain my lips, I just imagined my pout to be as pink as a delicious raspberry. This kid right here had a very vivid imagination. Next up were lip smackers in shimmering blue colors but that's another story. Gone are these days but my love for lip balm remains. Now that I am brave enough to wear actual lipstick I still can't stay away from tinted lip balms. And trust me when I say that the Sugar Lip Treatments by Fresh are on a whole newlevel. 

Just look at them. It's like they are all dressed up for a red carpet event or something. Oh these shimmering tubes are just so pretty. They also contain SPF 15. I don't have to stress the meaning of SPF to protect your skin, especially the tender skin on your lips, from the sun. It contains no sulfates, parabens and phthalates, which is awesome. And then there's this scent. They smell like lemon pie or maybe it's lemonade. But it's definitely lemon. Is there such a thing like a course for people with non existing skills to describe a thing? Yeah? Because I got none. Give me a rose and I will say that it smells like a flower, but that I'm not sure. Could also be cotton candy. It's that bad. 

Never mind, on to texture. These lip treatments glide on the lips. They are so soft and comfortable to wear. And they are hydrating. My lips are super dry and need moisture all the time, they need so much attention. Fresh handles them really well. Even after the color had faded I don't need to reapply the balm constantly. 

Speaking of color. I have two versions of the lip treatments. A mini one I scored on eBay in berry, a  - surprise - pinkish berry shade. Cherry (in full size) is a classic cherry red. My friend Joanna got me this one while spending time in New York in March. Cherry is very well pigmented. To demonstrate you what one swipe can do to your lips, I compared it to Benefit's benebalm below. See what I'm talking about? 

What else do you need to know? Well, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are no drugstore chapsticks. With 22,50$ each they are no Baume de Rose by Terry, but you maybe want to look twice at the price tag. And unfortunately they aren't easy to get for us folks living in Germany. But Fresh let me know  via Instagram that we can contact the Fresh store in London and they will be happy to ship their good stuff to us. Yaaay! All others can check if Sephora ships Fresh products to their destination. Because three or five is a charm I already added Petal, Tulip and Passion to my wish list. And you have to know that I am pretty impatient when it comes to crossing off things from my wish list.

Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist Topaze, Khaki, Steel

Es gibt bestimmte Beautybrands, die lassen mein Herz einfach höher schlagen. Natürlich sind es immer die jenigen, die in Deutschland nicht erhältlich sind. Marc Jacobs Beauty, Fresh, Too Faced, Bite Beauty, Philosophy...die Liste ist lang. Aber auch hierzulande gibt es ein paar Namen, die meine Augen zum Strahlen bringen. Sisley zum Beispiel. Sisley ist schick und luxuriös aber irgendwie auch mit understatement verbunden. Und klar, nicht ganz so erschwinglich. Ich habe vor einiger Zeit das wunderhübsche Orchideen Blush geschenkt bekommen und weil es nicht nur eine zauberhafte Verpackung hat, sondern auch das Innenleben so so schön ist, hüte ich es wie einen Schatz (ich frage mich gerade, warum es dazu noch keine Blogpost gibt??!). Genau so geht es mir mit der neuesten Produktentwicklung aus dem Hause Sisley. Nach den Phyto Lip Twists gibt es nun auch die Phyto-Eye Twists. Für Pieper durfte ich exklusiv drei Nuancen der neuen Reihe testen (vielen Dank dafür!) und habe mich sogar mal daran versucht das geschminkte Ergebnis auf Fotos festzuhalten (spoiler: Das kann ich in etwa so gut wie Mathe= gar nicht). 

Aber erst mal zum Produkt: Bei den Photo Eye Twists handelt es sich um wasserfeste Lidschatten mit langanhaltender Formel. Schöner klingt es allerdings, wenn Sisley selbst das Produkt vorstellt: 

Phyto-Eye Twist ist ein All-in-one Make-up für die Augen: Lidschatten + Augenstift + Eyeliner. Eine Jumbo-Mine mit seidiger und schmelzender Textur vereinfacht das Auftragen der Farbe auf den Augenlidern und ermöglicht ein Make-up in grafischer Form oder das Zeichnen eines Lidstrichs in XXL Format. Was natürlich als erstes ins Auge sticht ist die Verpackung: Schwarz-weiße Zebrastreifen mit knallblauem Schriftzug. Danach muss man in der Tasche nicht lange suchen. Die Lidschattenstifte kommen in der mittlerweile bewährten Chubbystick-Form daher und sind dadurch super handlich. Ich zähle mich zu den treuen Anhängern der Stiftform, ob nun für Lippen oder Wangen. Ich mag sie eigentlich alle. Deshalb gefällt mir die Form hier sehr gut, auch wenn sie sich weniger dafür eignet einen dünnen Lidstrich zu ziehen. Das oben angesprochene "XXL Format" gelingt damit allerdings perfekt. 

Die Textur der Phyto-Eye Twist ist in der Tat seidig. Sie gleiten mühelos über die Haut und geben viel Farbe ab. Es gibt kaum etwas unangenehmeres als Augenprodukte, die an der Haut zerren und sich kaum von der Stelle bewegen. 

Zum Testen erhielt ich die Farben 1 Topaze, ein schimmerndes, goldenes Beige; 3 Khaki, ein schimmerndes Khakigrün und 4 Steel, ein silbrig schimmerndes Dunkelgrau. Die drei Nuancen sagen mir sehr zu, weil sie sowohl einzeln aufgetragen, als auch in Kombination richtig gut aussehen. Topaz und Khaki sind einzeln schon super und zusammen der Knaller. 

Über einer Base aufgetragen halten die Phyto-Eye Twist ihr Versprechen sogar ganz gut ein. Sie halten den ganzen Tag und setzen sich erst nach ein paar Stunden in der Lidfalte ab. Leider bin ich damit noch nicht ins kühle Nass gesprungen und kann nicht sagen, ob sie eine Poolparty überstehen. Ich bin aber gerne bereit das bei warmen Temperaturen im Planschbecken meiner Patentochter nachzuholen. 

Einen kleinen Punkt Abzug gibt es für den Schimmer: Auch nach dem Abschminken sind die Schimmerpartikel überall um die Augen verteilt. Ich nenne dieses Phänomen discoball-eye. Würde ich mein Gesicht anschließend nicht noch mit einem Cleanser reinigen, wäre das ein echtes Problem. Aber kein Grund zur Panik solange man nicht nur mit etwas Mizellenlösung und ein paar Wattepads arbeitet. 

Auf den Fotos unten habe ich ein Auge mit Topaze und Khaki geschminkt. Topaze habe ich als Base verwendet und mit Khaki das Auge umrandet. Dem anderen Auge habe ich einen XXL Lidstrich mit Steel verpasst. Ich finde, dass Steel so eine Ausgehfarbe ist. Den Lidstrich würde ich genau so auftragen, wenn ich mit den Mädels einen draufmache. Dazu Lippen in Nude, einen Hauch Bronzepuder, viel Mascara und los gehts. 

Preislich liegen die Phyto-Eye Twists bei 35,50€. Es gibt sicher günstigere Alternativen, aber was Textur und Haltbarkeit angeht, sind die Moneten hier nicht ganz falsch investiert.

All the brands that are hard to get here in Germany are of special interest to me. But as the beauty junkie that I am, I love all the brands that offer pretty products of high quality. When I think of one brand in particular that is available in Germany, its Sisley. Sisley is luxurious, glamorous and with a special kind of understatement. Some time ago I received their Highlighter Blush as a gift and it owns a special place in my heart since then. The packaging is so chic and the blush itself is insanely pretty. Same goes with Sisley's latest innovation. After the success of their Phyto Lip Twists, they released a collection of Phyto-Eye Twists. Pieper hooked me up with three shades to play around and share my opinion with you (thank you, Pieper!). I let Sisley introduce you to their new Phyto-Eye Twists:

First things first: Packaging. The Phyto-Eye Twists come in a chubby stick style packaging with zebra print and a blue label. The packaging is indeed eye catching so no ten minute search for them in your purse. You know my love for chubby sticks, I like them for lips, I love them for blush and of course I also like them for eye shadow. The only downside is that its not that easy to use them for a thin line above your lashes, but anything from creating a base to drawing a XXL line is easy. The texture of these is silky and glides on the lids, no tugging or pulling.

I received three shades for my review: 1 Topaze is a bronzy shimmering beige, 3 Khaki is a shimmering green and 4 Steel is a shimmering dark grey. Topaze is a great base and worn alone it can be blended for a nice wash of color all over the lids. Paired with Khaki it is more of a sophisticated look. Steel is a great option for a thick eyeliner and the perfect eye look for a girl's nightout. Just add a nude lip and a bit of bronzer, loads of mascara and you're good to go. I tried to take pictures of both options and didn't exactly succeed. I guess my eye makeup photographing skills will develop over time. At least I hope so. 

In terms of longevity the Phyto-Eye Twist lives up to its claims. I used a base underneath and experienced some minor creasing issues after a couple of hours of wear. I can't tell if they are waterproof just yet, but I'm willing to jump in my god daughter's kids pool to see if I could rock a coachella style pool party with some color on my lids. 

I just have one minor issue to report: When removing the Phyto-Eye Twists from my lids with some micellar lotion and cotton buds I'm left with shimmer and glitter all over my eyes. I call this the discoball-eye. Just use a cleanser afterwards to get rid of the shimmer. 

The Photo-Eye Twists by Sisley retail for 35,50€/50$ each. Pricey, I know. But in terms of texture and longevity they are worth the price tag.

Notd: OPI On Air Perso-nail-ity

Ich habe seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit keinen Nagellack mehr vorgestellt. Das liegt nicht daran, dass ich aufgehört habe mir die Nägel zu lackieren. Das wird in etwa niemals passieren. Irgendwie hatten andere posts und leider auch wichtiger Unikram Vorrang. Deswegen wird es auch in Zukunft nicht mehr jede Woche einen Nagellackpost geben, stattdessen werde ich von Zeit zu Zeit einfach mein Notd einstreuen wann immer eine Farbe neu und aufregend ist. 

Den Anfang macht heute On Air Person-nail-ity aus der QVC UK Exclusive Collection. Den habe ich zusammen mit From Me to Q (hier zu sehen) und Sea You in Hollywood bei TKMaxx ergattert. 

On Air Perso-nail-ity ist etwas girly und passt super in die Frühlingszeit. Es is ein Pink mit etwas Koralle und schönem Schimmer. Im Sonnenlicht wird der Schimmerschalter so richtig angeknipst. Drei Schichten braucht er um voll deckend zu sein. Ist aber nicht weiter schlimm, weil er recht dünn ist und dadurch fix trocknet. Außerdem hat uns Gott den Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat gegeben und damit trocknet alles in sekundenschnelle.

Gestern habe ich On Air Perso-nail-ity zusammen mit dem Almost Lipstick in Flirty Honey von Clinique getragen (hier zu sehen oder hier auf Instagram). Für jemanden der Schwarz fast mehr liebt als Erdnussbutter, ist so viel Pink aber auch nur einmal in der Woche zu ertragen^^

The last time I posted some nail polish swatches is like ages ago. Its not like I don't wear nail polish anymore, because this will neve ever happen. I just felt like other blog posts excite me more and I have to do a lot of uni stuff right now and wanted to concentrate on this and other blog content. So I decided that there will be no nail polish of the week here, but I will throw in a notd once in a while whenever I wear a new and exciting nail polish. So let's start with OPI On Air Person-nail-ity today. This was one of three nail polishes of a QVC UK Exclusive collection. I found this one at my local TKMaxx last year. I already showed you From Me to Q here. Sea You in Hollywood is the third color of the set, you will surely see this on the blog one day. So On Air Person-nail-ity is a very girly pink with fine shimmer and just a tiny hint of coral in it. When the sunlight hits my nails the shimmer becomes very visible and vivid. On Air Perso-nail-ity is a little bit thin formulawise, so that I needed three coats for full coverage. But it dries quickly and with a little help of my dear friend Seche Vite dry fast top coat you take a deep breath and your nails are done. 

Yesterday I paired On Air Perso-nail-ity with Clinique's Almost lipstick in Flirty Honey (see it here or here on Instagram). For someone who loves black nearly as much as peanut butter this is a whole lot of pink and can only happen once a week^^

New in: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Ro(Cocoa)

Ich war also bei Sephora in Polen und hatte mich auf Marc Jacobs Beauty eingeschossen. Die Le Marc Lip Créme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang stand ganz oben auf der Wunschliste und wurde sogleich eingetütet. Und was nun? Sollte ich Infamous noch mitnehmen? Oder doch lieber den Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer in Fluorescent Beige oder Petra? Oder den Remedy Concealer Pen oder die Genius Gel Foundation? Zu viele Optionen, zu wenig Budget #studentensindarm. Dann fiel mein Blick auf die Highliner Gel Eye Crayons. Ich swatchte ein paar der Farben und war plötzlich blitzverliebt in Ro(Cocoa). Dieses leicht schimmernde Braun würde sich hervorragend auf meinen Lidern machen und grüne Augen plus Braun/Kupfer/Taupe ist eine Rechnung die immer aufgeht. Als ich dann doch nochmal Platz auf meiner Hand schaffen wollte, musste ich erstmal heftig reiben. Der Highliner zeigte sich völlig unbeeindruckt von meinem Versuch ihn zunächst mit dem Taschentuch und dann mit Wasser zum Verlassen meiner Hautoberfläche zu bewegen. Auch normale Abschminklotion konnte ihn nicht vollständig lösen. Ich könnte schwören, dass ich ihn hab lachen hören. Dann also musste der zwei Phasen Entferner her und Ro(Cocoa) murmelte nur etwas wie "Spielverderber" und weg war er. Über die sensationelle Tragedauer muss ich jetzt wohl nichts weiter sagen. Auch auf meinen öligen Lidern hält er bombenfest. Preislich ist auch der Highliner so viel Wert wie zehn Drogeriestifte, aber hier investiert man die 95złote/ca.24€ in eine wunderzauberhafte Farbe und extrem gute Haltbarkeit. Kein Verschmieren oder spontanes Auflösen nach ein paar Stunden. Ich für meinen Teil bin jetzt high auf Liner und wer ihn probiert wird es sicher auch sein.

So there I was. Willing, but too broke to buy every single item of Marc Jacobs Beauty line #studentlife. The Le Marc Lip Crème was safe and already waiting in my basket to be mine. But I wanted more. I wanted another lip color, one or two of the Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquers (looking at you Fluorescent Beige and Petra), the Genius Gel Foundation, the Remedy Concealer Pen...I wanted it all. So I started swatching again and suddenly there it was, that rare where have-you-been-I-need-you-moment. The moment I spotted the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Ro(Cocoa) this was it. This bronzy shimmery shade stole my heart. Bronzy shades and green eyes always get along and Ro(Cocoa) is no exception here. But now the best part: it stays in place no matter what. It tried to rub it off with a tissue, then with water and then I reached for a cleansing lotion. I swear I heard the Highliner laughing and saying something like "nice try". So if you want to get rid of this stuff, you can try your luck rubbing it off which will probably lead you nowhere. But I suggest leaving this job to a good Eye Make-up remover for waterproof mascara. I guess there's no need to talk about longevity of this product here. Once applied it even sticks to my oily eyelids for the whole day. If you're looking for a really really good eyeliner, than grab Marc Jacob's Highliner. At 95złote/25$ it is a little bit pricey, but it is worth every penny. I'm high on liner right now and you will be too. Trust me.
