Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest

Ich habe ja schon öfter erwähnt, dass Marken die nicht in Deutschland erhältlich sind, eine ganz besondere Anziehungskraft auf mich ausüben. Manchmal muss es auch keine gesamte Produktreihe sein, sondern nur ein einzelnes Teil das es bei uns nicht gibt. So ergeht es mir beispielsweise wenn ich auf der amerikanischen Yankee Candle-Seite stöbere. Natürlich haben wir hier auch eine ganz nette Vielfalt, aber mit Cinnamon Vanilla und Cotton Candy können wir einfach nicht mithalten. Burt's Bees ist ein anderes Beispiel. Die Lippenbalsame und die getönten Versionen sind hier zwar auch erhältlich und reizen mich nach mehrmaligem Ausprobieren nun mehr wenig, aber die neuen Lip Crayons wiederum weckten ganz fix mein Interesse. Erhältlich sind sie meines Wissens seit letztem Jahr in den USA&Kanada. 

Die Lip Crayons von Burt's Bees kommen in der mittlerweile standardisierten dicken Buntstiftform a la Chubby Stick daher. Die Schutzkappe ziert ein kleines Wabenmuster, was bei Burt's Bees natürlich nicht weit hergeholt ist. Insgesamt sind sechs Farben erhältlich. Ich habe mir die Nuance Redwood Forest besorgt. Es ist ein dunkles, kräftiges Rot. Die Pigmentierung ist ziemlich gut, was man von Burt's Bees so vielleicht nicht erwartet. Der Lippenstift an sich ist geruchsneutral, was viele freuen wird. Mich dagegen eher weniger. Ich brauche einfach ein bisschen Zuckerwatte oder Zitronenlimonade in meinen Lippenprodukten. Die Haltbarkeit ist gut, Essen und Trinken machen dem Lip Crayon aber natürlich schon zu schaffen. 

Die Chubbystick Variante von Burts Bees ist ziemlich erschwinglich: 9$ kostet ein Exemplar. Ich bin gespannt, ob es die Lip Crayons irgendwann nach Deutschland schaffen oder ob auch sie der Kategorie "Oh maaaan, warum gibt es das hier nicht?" zugeordnet werden müssen. 

I often mentioned that brands which aren't available in Germany are the most interesting ones. We have tons of brands and also some which are available overseas, but still there are major differences in product ranges. Yankee Candle is a good example: We have a good variety of scents here, but whenever I check out the American website I'm like "whooooa. I need these Cinnamon Vanilla and Cotton Candy tarts". Another example is Burt's Bees. Their lip balms and tinted lip balms are available here as well, but how about their new lip crayons which are already available in the US&Canada? I haven't spotted them yet, but since I needed to give them a try I had to get my hands on at least one of them no matter how. So here we go with Burt's Bees Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest. The packaging must be familiar by now. The lip color comes in a chubby stick like tube. The cap has this cute honeycomb structure on it, which is a reminder that Burt's Bees is all about that honey. 

There are six shades in total, I decided to give Redwood Forest a try. It's a deep red which is anything but sheer and instantly reminds me of fall. I'm perfectly aware that we're in the nearly midst of June now, but this can't wait till October. There's no detectable scent, which maybe good news for some of you and bad news for others. I just need a little bit of cotton candy or lemon cake flavor in my lip products. Lasting time is ok, but you will have to reapply the color after eating and drinking. A huge plus is that they are totally affordable. Burt's Bees Lip Crayons retail for 9$. Let's see if they will make it to the German/European market...

What's in my bag?-posts lese ich auf anderen Blogs super gerne. Meistens bewegen sich die dort gezeigten Inhalte irgendwo zwischen "Ja guck, das hab ich auch immer dabei" , "Gute Idee, sollte ich vielleicht auch mal einpacken" oder "Wer braucht denn sowas?" Also dachte ich, dass es an der Zeit ist mal den Inhalt meiner Tasche auf den Tisch zu legen.

Dieser besteht natürlich aus allerlei Beautykram. Ganz vorne mit dabei sind besonders viele Lippenprodukte. Irgendwie brauche ich immer die Sicherheit für alle möglichen Situationen gewappnet zu sein. Wer weiß, eventuell brauche ich ganz schnell rote Lippen, weil ich ja spontan noch zu einem ultra schicken Event eingeladen werden könnte. Rein theoretisch. Aber fangen wir von vorne an...

So its time to give you a little sneak peak into my bag. Maybe my stuff fits into one of your categories.

Die Tasche die mich im Moment oft begleitet ist ein Geburtstagsgeschenk von meinem boyfriend. Die bucket bag von Steffen Schraut ist groß und geräumig und super bequem zu tragen. Sie beherbergt eine Fülle von Dingen, die man gerne den oben genannten Kategorien zuordnen kann. Unter anderem diese hier: 

The bag I carry with me most of the time right now is a late birthday gift I got from my boyfriend. Every girl needs at least one bucket bag in her life and mine is by Steffen Schraut. Its comfortable to wear and offers enough room for all of the stuff shown in these pictures.

Immer mit dabei ist mein Terminkalender (so fern ich ihn nicht wieder verliere) und natürlich auch ein Stift, damit ich meine Termine nicht per Gedankenübertragung notieren muss. Habs mal versucht, aber war nur semi-erfolgreich. Natürlich kann es nicht irgend ein beliebiger Stift sein. Es muss schon ein Kugelschreiber in Lippenstiftform sein. Nicht wegzudenken ist auch ein Haargummi. Ich benutze derzeit die elastischen Ringe von invisibobble. Denn auch wenn ich morgens mit offener Mähne aus dem Haus gehe und die Motivation hoch ist, mache ich spätestens nachmittags einen Samuraiknödel aka Dutt daraus. Taschentücher dürfen natürlich auch nicht fehlen, besonders keine mit Spider-Man Motiv. Eine Duftminiatur wird ebenfalls so gut wie immer (oder so oft ich daran denke, also eher geht so oft) eingepackt. Aktuell nehme ich gerne Daisy Eau so Fresh von Marc Jacobs, weil ich diesen Duft auch im großen Flakon besitze, ihn zwischendurch dann auffrischen kann und so nicht unwillkürlich komische Duftkompositionen erfinde. Lesestoff und Kopfhörer, hier in einer girly girl Farbe erklären sich ja von selbst.

Always in my bag is my calendar (as long as I don't put it somewhere else and it won't bee seen ever again) and of course I need a pen to write down my meetings. I tried it with telepathy but I prefer to use this lip stick shaped pen instead. One thing I always carry with me, either in my bag or on my wrist is a hair tie. New in are the hair ties by invisibobble. I often leave the house wearing my hair down, but some time around noon I feel an irresistible urge to tie my hair into a messy bun. Spider-Man tissues are also a must. A sample of the fragrance I'm wearing that day is something I tend to pack in my bag when I'm having a long day ahead of me. I really like Daisy Eau so Fresh by Marc Jacobs, because its not overpowering and puts me in a good mood. The latest issue of Vogue and some girly girl headphones need no further explanation I think.

Handcremes stapeln sich bei mir und ich kaufe ständig neue, aber diese hier werde ich trotzdem immer wieder nachkaufen. Ich bin ganz verrückt nach der Coconut Handcreme von The Body Shop. Die Tube erinnert mich an Künstlerfarben, die Creme ist leicht und zieht schnell ein ohne dabei einen fiesen Fettfilm auf den Handinnenflächen zu hinterlassen und sie duftet himmlisch. Sollte ich die mal vergessen, schütte ich panisch grundsätzlich den kompletten Inhalt meiner Tasche aus und durchsuche nochmal jeden Winkel. Das wird dann gefolgt von einem verdammt a la Homer Simpson.

Noch eine Portion Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream auf die Nagelhaut auftragen und ich kann mich endlich meinen Lippen widmen. Die bekommen abwechselnd transparente Pflege durch meinen coconut milk eos lip balm, einen leichten Schimmer in Rosé mit dem Hydra Chrono Lippenbalsam von Lierac oder eine alltagstaugliche Rottönung mit dem Benebalm von Benefit.

I don't know when it happened, but I collect hand creams. Its not like I decided to start collecting them, it just happened by accident. Right now there is one I reach for most of the time: Currently I am obsessed with the Coconut hand cream by The Body Shop. I like the packaging, the lightweight formula and the scent. I panic when I think that I might have forgotten it at home or in another bag. Yes, its that good. Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is hydrating, a bit greasy and smells amazing, this is a must for dry cuticles. The lip balms I reach for most of the time are my coconut milk eos lip balm, Lierac's Hydra Chrono lip balm which adds a hint of color to the lips or my Benefit Benebalm for a just bitten, snow white pout (pun intended).

Und weil wir grad schon beim Thema sind, geht es hier auch gleich weiter mit Lippenprodukten. Der Eclat Minute Embellisseur Lèvres von Clarins in der Farbe 06 Rosewood Shimmer findet sich wahrscheinlich in sehr, sehr vielen Taschen wieder. Der NYX Butter Gloss in der Farbe Angel Food Cake ist auch ein alltime Favorit der einfach nie fehlen darf. Auch wenn ich eher seltener zu Lipgloss greife, aber die Farbe ist einfach zu schön um nicht ab und zu getragen zu werden. Leider gibt es Angel Food Cake immer noch nicht in Deutschland zu kaufen, aber für solche Fälle gibt es eBay. Genau so schön wie der Butter Gloss ist mein Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush, der dem Butter Gloss ziemlich ähnlich ist, nur auf den Glanz verzichtet, weswegen ich nicht auf ihn verzichten kann. Und um wenigstens noch ein wenig echte Farbe in die Rosenholzrunde zu werfen ist, auch ein Mini Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato vertreten. Meine Augenringe sind hartnäckig und winken mir spätestens nachmittags beim Blick in den Spiegel wieder munter zu, deswegen ist Concealer unentbehrlich. Der Instant Anti-Age Effekt Löscher von Maybelline macht seinen Job gut und ist daher herzlich eingeladen in meiner Handtasche Platz zu nehmen.

And because there are even more lip products in my bag (and I still feel like there is always something missing), lets continue with these cuties. I can imagine that this one can be found in a lot of bags: Its the Eclat Minute Embellisseur Lèvres by Clarins. I like the shade 06 rosewood shimmer, because I have a thing for anything with "rosewood" in it, especially because it is accompanied by a rosy-beige or mauveish color. I don't often wear lipgloss, but this shade is so pretty that I just have to wear it from time to time. Its the NYX Butter Gloss in Angel Food Cake. Unfortunately this particular shade isn't available in Germany, but thats what ebay is for. Very similar to Angel Food Cake, but not as glossy or shiny is Clinique's Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush. And to throw a little bit of color into this rosy beige party crowd I would like to introduce you to Clinique's Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato (shown here in its mini version). Although the bags under my eyes are Prada, I still like to cover them up. They always need the limelight and so my dark circles will show up again not later than noon. Then its time for Maybelline's Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Concealer to take over and make me pretty again. 

New in: Beauty - birthday gift edition

Mein Geburtstag ist zwar jetzt schon ein paar Tage oder auch einen Monat her, aber meine fabelhaften Geschenke aus dem Bereich Beauty möchte ich der Menschheit nicht vorenthalten. Ein paar Dinge habe ich mir vorher noch schnell selbst gekauft und sie mir dann quasi selbst geschenkt. Geburtstage sind immer eine gute Ausrede um noch mehr Beautykram zu kaufen. So nun aber auf zur Bilderflut.

I purchased some of them myself to give them to me on my birthday^^ Yes, I do this on a regular basis. Also to celebrate my birthday when it's not my birthday. But in general birthdays are always a great excuse for excessive beauty shopping. But now let's just dive right into it.

Das ck one 3-in1 Face Makeup ist sows wie der beste Kauf seit Langem. Ehrlich, das ist die beste, leichte Foundation der ich begegnet bin. Sie ist soooo soooo toll. Und war ein Geschenk an mich selbst. Danke nochmal. Das hast du schön ausgesucht. Eine Review wird folgen.

The ck one 3-in-1 Face Makeup is the best foundation I've come across lately. Seriously, this stuff is so good. There will be a review soon on the blog. Oh and I got this for myself. Thanks a lot. This is so on point.

Eigentlich brauchte ich gar keine neuen Pflegeprodukte. Ha-ha. Wann habe ich jemals etwas nicht gebraucht? Außerdem mag ich diese Pflegeserie von Lancaster sehr gerne. Deshalb wanderten neben der Foundation und der samples oben auf den Bildern zu sehen auch noch der Lancaster Softening Protecting Toner und der Softening Cleansing Foam ins Einkaufskörbchen.

To be honest, there was no actual need to get me the Lancaster Softening Protecting Toner and Softening Cleansing Foam, but sometimes the things you think you don't need are the best ones. So I took them, the foundation and all the samples you see above home with me and was one happy beauty junkie that day.

Kennt ihr, dass wenn ihr immer wieder an einem Parfum schnuppert und es auch immer an anderen riecht und euch denkt "Ach ja, das wollte ich doch auch noch haben". So ging es mir jetzt schon ewig mit Especially Escada Elixir. Eigentlich war das auch ein Geburtstagsgeschenk an mich selbst, aber weil meine Eltern ein bisschen ratlos waren was meine Wünsche in diesem Jahr angeht, haben sie die Rechnung dafür übernommen.

Do you know these situations when you smell a certain fragrance on someone or in a beauty department and you instantly notice the scent and are reminded that you actually wanted to get this scent like ages ago? That's the case with Especially Escada Elixir. I can't recall how often I wanted to buy this fragrance and somehow never did. Until last month when my parents gave it to me as a birthday gift after I purchased it for myself and handed them the bill for it.

Wer mich kennt, der weiß, dass alles rund um Handpflege supi für mich ist. Meine Sammlung an Handcreme ist wirklich beachtlich. Wenn ich die kleinen Nagelhautpflegedöschen nicht ständig verlieren würde, hätte ich davon sicher auch unzählige Exemplare. Aber irgendwie verschwinden die immer in meinen Handtaschen aka Bermudadreiecken. Die liebe Brini hatte scheinbar Mitleid und hat mir dieses zuckersüße Tips and Toes Kit von Burt's Bees besorgt. Die cuticle butter kannte ich schon und mag sie total. Auch die Almond & Milk Hand Cream ist mir nicht unbekannt und duftet so himmlisch nach Marzipantörtchen, dass ich meine Hände gerne abschlecken möchte. Aber ich kann mich grad noch so zusammenreißen. Die restliche Produkte des Tips and Toes Sets wurden auch schon ausprobiert und für gut befunden.

If you know me than you can say for sure that I love a good hand cream. My collection is huge. My collection of cuticle balms isn't, because I tend to loose this little tins as soon as I have them for a week or so. One day I will find them all in one of my handbags or maybe one in every single hand bag. We'll see. This lovely Burt's Bees Tips and Toes Kit was a gift from Brini. I think she has some mind reading skills. How did she know that I lost my cuticle balm just recently? Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream included in the kit is great. So is the Almond & Milk Hand Cream. It smells like dessert. I want to lick my hands after applying it. Seriously.

Wann braucht man eigentlich keinen Gutschein von Douglas? Das hat sich Ania auch gedacht und mich damit beschenkt. Eine Handseife und Gesichtsmaske hat sie mir auch noch mit ins Tütchen gelegt. Und eine Handmaske gab es auch noch dazu. Handcreme reicht manchmal auch einfach nicht. Schon gar nicht in der Winterzeit.

Douglas Giftcards are always a good idea. That's what Ania thought when she spoiled me with a gift card and two little goodies pictured above. And the third goodie, a hand mask. Because sometimes hand cream isn't enough.

Den Lip Crayon von Zoeva in der Farbe Tender Rose habe ich mir zwischendurch gegönnt. Es ist eine schöne Alltagsfarbe und reiht sich demnach gut in mein übliches Beuteschema ein. Der doch schon deutliche Glanz den der Stift mitbringt, hat mich allerdings überrascht. Aber es muss ja auch nicht immer alles matt sein.

Zoeva's Lip Crayon is a recent beauty buy. Tender Rose is a nice everyday color, like most of the colors in my collection. It's surprisingly glossy. Have to get used to it, because I'm more into matte colors recently.

Das Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate von Kiehl's, der Photo Finish Foundation Primer von Smashbox und das Annayake Reinigungstuch gab es als Goodies zu meiner Bestellung bei Douglas. Genauso wie den GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer von Origins. Hätte der noch einen Lichtschutzfaktor, wäre ich so richtig angetan.

Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate as well as the Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox and Annayake's Make up Remover Sponge were goodies I got on top of my last Douglas order. As well as the GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer by Origins. I really like this moisturizer, but unfortunately it has no SPF. So please Origins, think about including it.

Überraschung. Eine Handcreme. Die Hand Food Handcreme von Soap&Glory ist ein Kandidat für so ein typisches Hass-Liebe-Ding. Manchmal mag ich den Duft total gerne und manchmal bleibt die Tube tagelang zu. Am liebsten verwende ich die Handcreme übrigens vor dem Schlafen gehen. Dann stört mich der etwas fettige Film in den Handinnenflächen nicht so. Ach und die The Righteous Butter Body Lotion gab es bei jeder Soap & Glory Bestellung dazu. Wie gut ist das?

There it is again. Hand cream. It is a kind of love and hate relationship with the Hand Food hand cream by Soap &Glory. On some days I love the scent and on others I can't stand it. I don't know, it's weird. I like to use it at night so I can stand the slightly greasy feeling it leaves behind. Oh and their The Righteous Butter Body Lotion was a bonus I got, because I ordered the hand cream. Yes, I'm a sucker for goodies.

Zu dem Produkt gibt es nicht viel zu sagen. Batiste macht für mich das beste Trockenshampoo. Ich habe schon zig Dosen geleert und habe immer mindestens ein Back-up auf Lager. Sowohl die großen, als auch die kleinen Dosen tummeln sich in meinem Badezimmer.

There is not much to say about Batiste. I love their Dry Shampoos. They are life and time savers. I always have several back ups of them in my bathroom. I have them in both sizes, travel size and full size. Because you never know when or where you come across a greasy strand. Don't get me wrong, I don't sit there in a restaurant spraying my hair with it like a crazy person, but it's nice to have a small can at hand just in case.

Ich freue mich ja immer über goodies. Aber manchmal bin ich ein bisschen mehr aus dem Häuschen als nur "yaaay". Zum Beispiel wenn Douglas im Newsletter einen Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition zu jeder Bestellung über 39€ verspricht. Dann gehts los. Da wird der Warenkorb schneller gefüllt als ich gucken kann. Und Demolition und ich haben uns richtig angefreundet. Ein kleiner leicht verwischter Lidstrich und schon ists schöner am Morgen.

There are goodies and there are "hell yeah" kind of goodies. When Douglas sends me their newsletter, announcing that every order above 39€ gets a free Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition, I immediately start filling that virtual basket. I really like this pencil for a quick, smudged out swipe above my lash line.

Das letzte Geschenk ist von meinem boyfriend, der immer sehr aufmerksam ist. Ich sagte neulich mal "Ich habe noch gar nichts von Burberry in meiner Sammlung. So ein Lip Cover in Antique Rose passt da optimal rein". Und zack schon konnte ich das Päckchen an meinem Geburtstag öffnen und ein Häckchen hinter Burberry in der 'Fehlt noch'-Liste machen. Ist er nicht toll? Und nein, er sieht nicht aus wie alle anderen Lippenstifte in meiner Lippenstiftschublade. Ein Schelm wer sowas denkt. Der sieht nämlich von außen ganz anders aus. Und der riecht auch anders.

The last thing is a birthday gift from my very thoughtful boyfriend. I always think that he overhears sentences like "You know what is really missing in my collection? Burberry. Their Lip Cover in Antique Rose is so pretty". Guess what I got on my bday to complete my collection. Some of you may think that there is nothing special about yet another rosewood colored lipstick, but you're wrong. It has a different packaging than my other lip sticks and has a different scent and the packaging is magnetic and I love it and we belong together. 

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream

Nachtcreme. Ein oft umstrittenes Thema. Für die einen ist sie unverzichtbar, für die anderen ein Fremdwort. Ich habe tatsächlich schon mal Sätze wie diese gehört: "Es gibt Nachtcremes? Braucht man das denn?"

Gute Frage. Ich bin der Meinung, dass 'man das braucht'. Ich zumindest. Oder ich glaube das zu brauchen. Jedenfalls fühle ich mich wesentlich besser, wenn meine Haut über Nacht von einer speziellen Pflege verwöhnt wird. 

Im Moment teste ich die Radiance Night Cream von Burt's Bees. Burt's Bees kannte ich bislang nur wegen der tollen tinted lip balms, also war ich neugierig auf die Gesichtspflegelinie der Marke. 

Die Radiance Night Cream (55g) kommt in einem süßen, sehr nostalgischen Tiegel daher. Auch der Umkarton ist im selben Stil gestaltet. 

Die Creme enthält 98,92% natürliche Wirkstoffe. Zitronen-,  Rosmarin-, Pinienextrakte und Gelee Royal sollen der Haut einen gesunden Glow und Jugendlichkeit verleihen und kleine Fältchen minimieren.
Kurze Anmerkung: Auf der amerikanischen Website ist eine andere Beschreibung zu finden und dort sind es 99% natürliche Inhaltsstoffe, so wie es auf dem Karton vermerkt ist. Siehe unten.

Der Duft ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, nicht unangenehm, aber auch schwer zu beschreiben. Fruchtig-blumig, süß und neutral. 

Die Konsistenz ist etwas reichhaltiger, klebt auch nach dem Auftragen auch kurz auf der Haut, zieht aber relativ schnell fast vollständig ein. 

Preislich variert die Creme zwischen 21,95€ (Parfumdreams) und 23,95€ (Douglas). Ist also eine eher günstigere Alternative, gemessen an ähnlichen Produkten anderer Marken.

Zur Wirkung: Nach dem Aufwachen ist meine Haut wahnsinnig weich und überhaupt nicht trocken. Ich kann nicht zu 100% sagen, ob meine Haut jugendlicher aussieht oder nicht, aber ungeschminkt werde ich für eine 14-jährige gehalten. Klingt gut. Nehm' ich. 

Night Cream. There is a lot of talking going on about night creams. Some can't do without and others don't think it's necessary at all. Just to mention some thoughts on it I've heard: "There is such thing as a night cream? Do I need that?" Good question. I decided that I do need a night cream. Or maybe I just think that I do need it. Actually I somehow feel better using it.

Right now I'm testing Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream. I have used Burt's Bees tinted lip balm a lot earlier, but besides that I have no experience with their skin care products.

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream (55g) comes in a super cute nostalgic jar and packaging.
It consists of 99% natural ingredients like shea butter, bee pollen and royal jelly. These ingredients suppose to moisturize the skin, give it a youthful glow and minimize first wrinkles. (I have no clue why, but the german Burt's Bees website does give another description of the product's ingredients).

I can hardly describe the scent. It's something you need to get used to. Do I smell flowers in there? Is is it a sweet, neutral scent..? I don't know.
The consistency is thick at first and feels a little bit sticky, but really sinks into the skin after a couple minutes.

The price range starts at 21,95€ (Parfumdreams) and ends (probably) somewhere at 23,95€ (Douglas). I think there are night creams which are way more expensive.

Does it work: The morning after using it my skin is super soft and I have no dry areas at all. I can't tell if it gives me this youthful glow, but people say I look like a fourteen year old without make up. Sounds good.
