Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Lincoln Park After Dark Suede

Frohes neues Jahr! Ich hoffe, dass 2015 ein fabelhaftes Jahr wird. Ich fiebere jetzt schon dem Release der Opi Hawaii Kollektion entgegen und bin schon gespannt auf die Holiday Kollektion. Jetzt aber erstmal zum letzten Lack des alten und dem ersten des neuen Jahres. Um 2015 einzuläuten habe ich Lincoln Park After Dark in der Suede Version getragen. Wie sehr mir die Suede Lacke aus der Herbst Kollektion 2009 gefallen, habe ich bereits hier lang und breit in einer Lobrede aufgeschrieben und auch Lincoln Park After Dark Suede ist einfach nur toll. Dieses Suede-Finish kann einfach alles. Mit dem echten Lincoln Park After Dark hat dieser hier wenig gemeinsam. Als Suede ist er viel heller, schimmert wunderschön metallisch und ist herrlich matt. Die Trockenzeit ist kaum länger als ein Wimpernschlag, da macht es mir auch nicht viel aus, dass die Farbe ziemlich anfällig ist. Nach zwei Tagen zeigen sich schon erste Anzeichen von Tipwear. Nicht weiter schlimm. Wenn die Maniküre in unter fünf Minuten erledigt ist, dann kann auch öfter neu lackiert werden. 

Happy new year! 2014 is over and 2015 will hopefully be a great year. I can't wait for the OPI Hawaii collection and am already excited to see what their holiday collection will look like. But on to already existing but hard to get colors. To celebrate the ending of the old and the beginning of the new year I wore Lincoln Park After Dark Suede. It belongs to the fall 2009 Suede collection. I already showed you You Don't Know Jacques Suede here and told you how much I love this matte finish. Lincoln Park After Dark Suede is a shimmering purple with the same silky matte finish. It's a lot lighter than the original Lincoln Park After Dark. I prefer the Suede finish over the original creme and you probably know how much I love a good creme nail polish. First signs of tipwear appeared after two days, but I don't care because drying time is like five minutes. Fastest mani ever.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Pepe's Purple Passion

Da heute schon der erste Advent gefeiert wird und ich mich schon wie ein Schnitzel auf mein erstes Adventskalendertörchen freue, ist es an der Zeit die Holiday Kollektionen und all die hübschen Schimmerlacke aus der Versenkung zu holen und sich langsam auf das große Fest einzustimmen.

Den Anfang macht heute Pepe's Purple Passion aus der Muppets Holiday Kollektion 2011. Es ist ein dunkles Lila mit recht großen pinken Schimmerpartikeln. Ich wünschte der Schimmer würde etwas mehr zum Vorschein kommen, aber leider ist er sehr versteckt. Auch nach zwei Schichten Pepe's Purple Passion und zwei großzügigen Schichten Seche Vite Topcoat bleibt er fast unsichtbar. Aber noch ist es ja ein paar Tage hin bis Weihnachten und es bleibt genug Zeit die Glitzer- und Schimmerbomben auszupacken. 

Since Christmas is only four weeks away ( when exactly did this year happen? I have no idea what I did between January and October) I thought that it's time to dust off all the pretty glittery holiday nail polishes. I'd like to start with Pepe's Purple Passion from the Muppets Holiday collection 2011. It has a dark purple base with rather large pieces of pink shimmer/glitter. Unfortunately the shimmer is super hidden. I tried two coats of Pepe's Purple Passion and two generous coats of Seche Vite Topcoat but the shimmer prefers to be nearly invisible. It's a tragedy. But don't give up on me now fellow shimmer lovers, there are more shiny nail polish on their way.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Haven't the Foggiest

Manchmal frage ich mich, ob ich ein warmer oder kalter Typ bin. Testen kann man das indem man sich ein silbernes und goldenes Blatt neben das Gesicht hält. Daran soll man erkennen, welche Farbe besser zur Haut- und Haarfarbe passt. Ich erkenne da leider gar nichts. Überhaupt nichts. Entweder bin ich ein Mischtyp oder ich kann die Zeichen nicht deuten. Deswegen trage ich auch gerne beides. Sowohl Gold als auch Silber. In dieser Woche ist Silber an der Reihe. Der perfekte Nagellack dafür ist Haven't the Foggiest aus der San Francisco Kollektion vom letzten Herbst. Silbriger Schimmer so weit das Auge reicht. Auch mit Topcoat schimmert er zwar wie verrückt, ist aber irgendwie auch matt. Schwer zu erklären. Steht Haven't the Foggiest mir eigentlich? Kann ich leider nicht sagen. Auch nicht, wenn ich mir die Pranken ins Gesicht halte.

Do you know whether you have warm or cold undertones? I once read that you have to hold a silver and golden paper next to your face to figure out what looks good on you. I did it and still don't know if my skin leans more towards warm or cold. That's why I like to wear gold and silver and can hardly decide which one I prefer. This week I'm more into silver. I chose Haven't the Foggiest from Opi's San Francisco fall 2013 collection to complement my current mood. It's a silver foil that looks slightly matte. Even with top coat. I like Haven't the Foggiest. But I don't know if it likes me. You know maybe I'm more into gold after all.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: German-icure by Opi

Der Nagellack der Woche ist ein Prachtstück. German-icure by Opi aus der Germany Kollektion aus dem Herbst 2012 gehört zu meinen liebsten Lacken in der Sammlung. Er hat eine schwarze Base und ist durchzogen von feinstem, dunkelrotem Schimmer. Soo unfassbar schön. German-icure by Opi ist herbstlich, festlich und weihnachtlich. Ich wurde in dieser Woche schon unzählige Male darauf angesprochen. Zurecht wie ich finde. Unter der glänzenden Decke aus Topcoat wirkt der Lack fast wie ein glasierter Apfel oder wie eine Christbaumkugel. Leider sind die Fotos nicht unbedingt perfekt, aber im Moment ist graues Licht alles was ich hier zu sehen bekomme.

This week's nail polish is a favorite in my stash. It's just breathtaking. German-icury by Opi from Opi's Germany collection 2012 has a black base and tons of burgundy shimmer. It's so fall appropriate and festive and reminds me of a glazed apple you see on the christmas markets here in Germany. It looks as if the shimmer is locked in under a heavy coat of shiny top coat. I received a lot of compliments this week. People seem to like shimmery, vampy colors like German-icure by Opi. I wish the pictures could show you how beautiful this shade really is, but the sun goes down so early right now and the daylight is just grey...

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: A Woman's Prague-Ative

Gerade noch rechtzeitig zu Halloween (und nicht erst zum Wochenende) kommt  hier der Nagellack der Woche: A Woman's Prague-Ative aus der Euro Centrale Kollektion aus dem Frühjahr 2013, ist ein schimmerndes Orange mit Tendenz zu Rostrot das mit kleinen Goldpartikeln durchzogen ist. Und der Lack wurde natürlich absichtlich ausgewählt, weil er aussieht wie ein Kürbis. Eigentlich fast schon wie ein Kürbis mit Lichtlein, aber ohne fiese Fratze. In der Sonne schimmert A Woman's Prague-Ative wie eine eigene kleine Sonne. Dafür braucht es nur zwei Schichten des Nagellacks und etwas Topcoat. Wer jetzt noch ein Last Minute Kostüm braucht: A Woman's Prague-Ative aufpinseln, Tshirt in Orange anziehen, vielleicht noch ein grünes Hütchen aufsetzen und schon ist man ein Kürbis. Ein wenig Lippenfarbe in Orange kann natürlich auch nicht schaden. Aber bloß nicht das ganze Gesicht im Kürbiston einfärben oder diese schlimmen, glänzenden Kunstwimpern aufkleben. Schon mal gesehen wie das auf Fotos aussieht? Eben. Auch Kürbisse haben Klasse.

Just in time for Halloween I would like to show you my nail polish of the week and yes, it is Halloween themed. A Woman's Prague-Ative from OPI's spring 2013 Euro Centrale collection is a bright orange with golden shimmer. Reminds you of Jack O'Lanterns? Good. You should see it in the sunlight. The shimmer transforms into its own sun. Pictures don't do it justice. Below you see two coats plus top coat. In case you need a last minute Halloween costume: Apply A Woman's Prague-Ative to your nails, wear an orange colored shirt and a green hat and voila, you're a pumpkin. I suggest to add a nice orange lip stick to your costume, you know to make it fancy. And ditch the fake orange lashes. Seriously. I've seen this before. It takes you from classy to trashy.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Meet Me On the Star Ferry

Die Farbe der Woche ist diesmal Meet Me On the Star Ferry aus der Hong Kong Kollektion aus dem Jahr 2010. Weil die Woche recht herbstlich startete, erschien mir dieses schimmernde Lila als äußerst passend. Meet Me On the Star Ferry ist leider ein wenig transparent und benötigt drei Schichten für volle Deckkraft. Das Ergebnis überzeugt allerdings: ein schicker, herbstlicher Pflaumenton (oder doch Mauve? Gibt es vielleicht einen Farbbezeichnungskurs?) durchzogen mit feinem Schimmer. Apropos Pflaume: Ich sollte mal wieder einen Zwetschgenkuchen backen. Passt hervorragend in die Saison. Meine Farbwahl ist also doch nicht soo weit hergeholt.

This week's choice of nail polish might appear a little too fall like for August. But since the last weekend and this week were nothing like summer, Meet Me On the Star Ferry from OPI's Hong Kong collection 2010 seemed just right. It is a medium plum (or would you call it mauve?) with fine shimmer. The formula is on the thinner side so that you will need three coats for full opacity. But don't worry, in the end you will love this shimmering plum. By the way, isn't it plum season right now? Means time for plum pie and yes, plum nail polish colors.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: Hands Off My Kielbasa!

Ich dachte mir, wenn ich in dieser Woche meine Einkäufe aus Polen zeige, kann ich in Puncto Nagellack auch gleich beim Thema bleiben. Hands Off My Kielbasa! (eigentlich heißt es kiełbasa, aber ich will nicht klugscheißern) wurde letztes Jahr im Rahmen der Euro Centrale Kollektion released und eignet sich doch mehr als hervorragend für diese kleine Themenwoche. Ich persönlich mag keine Wurst, aber wie es in polnischen Familien so üblich ist, reißen sich bei uns daheim alle anderen darum und weil meine Eltern ja grad erst aus der alten Heimat zurückgekehrt sind, ist der Kühlschrank auch voll mit Kielbasa. Ich habe trotzdem darauf verzichtet, die Bilder mit Wurst zu dekorieren, auch wenn es zum Namen passen würde. Nun also zur Farbe: Hands Off My Kielbasa! ist ein warmes Pfirsichbraun (wenn es so eine Farbe denn gibt) mit ganz feinem, goldenem Schimmer. Ziemlich schwer zu beschreiben. Ich finde, die Farbe hat einen ganz leichten old school Charme, wirkt aber trotzdem nicht eingestaubt. Durch das leicht frostige Finish können Streifen entstehen, aber in der Regel gleicht sich das mit der zweiten Schicht und etwas Topcoat gut aus. Ohne Topcoat wirkt Hands Off my Kielbasa! etwas matt und trocknet wahrscheinlich auch deswegen ziemlich schnell. Tja und auch wenn der Kühlschrank bis oben hin gefüllt ist mit Kielbasa, ist mir das  in dieser Woche besonders Wurst. 

This morning I thought 'why not include a nail polish with a semi polish name this week?' Since I'm showing you my Poland haul on the blog, Opi's Hands Off My Kielbasa! from the 2013 Euro Centrale collection would fit in just great. Although I was born in Poland, I was never into sausage or meat in general. The rest of my family is like a horde of dinosaurs, always on the hunt^^ My parents just returned from their trip and the fridge is full of kielbasa (actually it's written kiełbasa, I don't want to be a smartass, just saying), but I don't feel the need to decorate the pictures with sausage. I hope you feel the same way, too. Hands Off My Kielbasa! is a warm peachy salmon with fine shimmer. Opi calls this a "bronzy tan" and I'm totally okay with it. I feel like to some degree this is an old school color but still with a nice, modern twist so that it has no 80's vibe like a lot of other similar colors have. It's a little bit on the frosty side and can show some brush strokes, but two coats and some top coat should be enough to level out any imperfection. If you prefer a rather matte finish, than skip the top coat.

Der OPI Nagellack der Woche: DS Opulence

Mein MacBook ist leider immer noch nicht funktionstüchtig, deshalb wird das hier wieder ein iphone-post. Aber ich hoffe, dass nächste Woche wieder alles seinen gewohnten Lauf nehmen kann...

Eigentlich habe ich es ja nicht so mit Glitzer, aber Holo ist ok. So kam es, dass ich in dieser Woche einen Lack aus der Opi Designer Series, nämlich DS Opulence auf den Nägeln trage. Das Fläschchen unterscheidet sich schon optisch von den üblichen Opis. Der obere Teil, der DS Lacke ist silberfarben. Damit kann man die DS Lacke leicht von den "normalen" Opi Nagellacken unterscheiden und wundert sich vielleicht weniger über den Preis von 25€. DS Opulence ist ein dunkles Rosa mit holographischem Schimmer in Regenbogenfarben. Klingt fancy, ist es auch. Und trotzdem ist es alltagstauglich. Wahrscheinlich, weil der Schimmer zwar auffällig, aber nicht überwältigend ist. Ich habe zwei Schichten plus Topcoat aufgetragen und erfreue mich seitdem an dem Ergebnis.

Maybe you know that I'm not so much into too much glitter, but Opi's Designer Series nail polishes with their holographic shimmer are totally fine. The Designer Series bottles feature bold colors with stunning shimmer. They have a silver top, which makes it easy to identify them as part of the more expensive DS range. DS Opulence is a dark pink with holographic multicolored shimmer. Although it's very fancy, it's nonetheless wearable. I applied two coats plus topcoat.

Benefit Rockateur

Dieses hübsche Rouge von Benefit schlummert schon eine Weile in meinen Entwurf-posts, seit Oktober schon. Ich muss den post wohl irgendwie vergessen haben (O_O). Aber besser spät als nie: Rockateur von Benefit reiht sich als neustest Mitglied in die Benefit Blush-Familie ein. Wie die anderen Box O' Powders, ist auch Rockateur in einer kleinen, aber stabilen Pappbox mit Spiegel beheimatet in der auch ein Pinsel Platz findet. Im Gegensatz zu seinen Vorgängerblushes, enthält Rockateur nur 5,0g statt der üblichen 8,0g Produkt - das aber zum gleichen Preis von ca. 33€. "Skandal!" denkt man sich vielleicht und holt schonmal die Mistgabeln und Fackeln hervor, um Benefit aus der Stadt zu jagen. Über diesen 3,0g schweren Produktverlust tröstet auch die recht hübsche Verpackung mit ihrem 3D-Schriftzug nicht hinweg...

Nun aber zum 5,0g (mehr Salz in die Wunde) Inhalt: Das Blush hat eine dreidimensionale Prägung mit dem Schriftzug "Rock" auf der Oberfläche. Diese nutzt sich allerdings schnell ab. Rockateur ist ein metallisch schimmerndes, rosé-farbenes Rouge, das zwar nicht schlecht pigmentiert ist, aber für ein farbintensives Ergebnis doch eher geschichtet werden muss. Dann kommt der metallische Schimmer für meinen Geschmack allerdings sehr stark zur Geltung...Daher sehe ich Rockateurs Einsatzgebiet eher im Highlighterbereich. Da macht sich der rosige Schimmer ganz fabelhaft. Die Haltbarkeit ist gut, aber nicht mit der eines matten Blushes zu vergleichen. Auf sehr heller Haut kommt das Rouge (als tatsächliches Rouge) am besten zur Geltung. Die Konsistenz ist sehr weich und buttrig, aber kaum pudrig.
Der Pinsel ist für unterwegs ganz brauchbar. Im Notfall. Ansonsten trägt er das Produkt etwas zu ungleichmäßig auf und ich stehe nicht auf glitzernde Discoflecken im Gesicht.

Rockateur riecht für meine Nase recht blumig, aber ich kann beim besten Willen nicht sagen wonach...
Zu empfehlen ist Rockateur eher für helle Hauttypen und für alle, die einen hübschen und gut pigmentierten Highlighter suchen.

I browsed through my unpublished posts and found this one here: Benefit's Rockateur has been released in October, but I somehow totally forgot it. Rockateur is Benefit's latest addition to their Box O' Powder range. It comes in a small box including a mirror and brush. In contrast to Benefit's other blushes, Rockateur contains only 5,0g/0.17oz of product. Usually their blushes contain 8,0g/0.25oz. But what's really shocking is, that they didn't change the price though. How dare they? Maybe they thought we didn't notice... Anyway. The packaging has a nice threedimensional writing on it. So does the blush: "Rock" is written on its surface, but it disappears after a couple of uses.

Rockateur is a metallic pinky rose gold. It is nicely pigmented, but must be layered for a more intense effect. I prefer to use it as a highlighter over a matte blush, because the shimmer is a little overwhelming when applied as a blush (my personal opinion). Rockateur is very soft and buttery and not powdery at all. It lasts well for several hours, but is not comparable to matte blushes. As a blush this works best on very fair skin tones. The brush which is included is okay for touch ups on the go, but I prefer to use my blush brush from Sephora with it. Rockateur is a scented blush. I have no clue what it is exactly.. a flowery scent maybe?
I recommend this one for all beauties with very fair skin tones and for all of you looking for a nicely pigmented highlighter .
