Hot, Hotter, Hot Lips: Charlotte Tilbury's Hot Lips in Secret Salma

Neulich kam die Frage nach Vorbildern auf. Habe ich welche? Berühmte sogar? Wenn man in meinen Kindheitserinnerungen gräbt, dann singt Mariah Carey ihren Song Hero - für sich selbst und ich für sie mit. Aber jetzt? Stylingvorbilder gibt es natürlich viele. Olivia Palermo ist da ganz weit vorn. Aber ich denke, es besteht ein meilenweiter Unterschied zwischen dem Nacheifern einer Person aufgrund des guten Geschmacks und dem Wunsch, jemanden nachzueifern, weil er Ziele im Leben erreicht hat, von denen man selbst noch träumt. Habe ich also Vorbilder? Jaein. Sich jemanden zum Vorbild zu nehmen bedeutet, dass man etwas was er oder sie erreicht hat, gutheißt und feiert. Bei der eigenen Mutter ist das kein Problem. Bei Stars und Sternchen kratzen wir da doch nur an der Oberfläche. Ich kann schließlich nicht mit Sicherheit sagen, ob er oder sie nicht über Leichen gegangen ist, um jetzt hier oder dort zu sein. Möchte ich über Leichen gehen? Nein, sicherlich nicht. Ich möchte meinen eigenen Weg gehen, nicht sein wie sie oder er. Aber ich gebe zu, dass ein wenig (Star-) Inspo manchmal trotzdem nicht ganz verkehrt ist. Beim Makeup zum Beispiel. Schon gar nicht, wenn Charlotte Tilbury ihre Finger mit im Spiel hat. Genau, daher weht der Wind. Hier geht es nicht um Philosophie, sondern um Makeup. Genauer gesagt, um die 16 neuen Hot Lips Lipsticks von Charlotte Tilbury, die sie nach ihren berühmten Musen und Klientinnen benannt hat. Viel mehr um einen Lippenstift aus der neuen Reihe, denn #newapartment #interiorcomesfirstthesedays #broketill2020. Secret Salma ist der mexikanischen Leinwand-Schönheit Salma Hayek gewidmet und klang der Beschreibung nach für mich wie ein dunkler Beerenton mit mattem Finish. Geswatcht sieht das Ganze dann wieder eher nach Rosenholz aus aka übliches Beuteschema. Ich wollte meine Komfortzone verlassen und bin auf der Couch quasi nur einen Zentimeter nach links gerobbt. Nichtsdestotrotz ist Secret Salma ein besonders schönes Rosenholz mit wunderbar matt-seidigem Finish. Die Matte Revolution lipsticks sind ja grundsätzlich ein Knaller (hier zu lesen). Dafür kann man auch mal in der Komfortzone bleiben. 

Zudem wurde in den ersten zwei Verkaufsmonaten je £1 aus dem Erlös an Women for Women International gespendet. Das nenne ich mal vorbildlich.

I stopped idealizing famous people because of what they did and do (besides Olivia Palermo of course, one can always idealize people because of their fabulous style, there's nothing wrong with it), because what do we know about these people actually? The media is great in the business of make-believe and selling a constructed truth. So if I'm looking for role models, I'm looking for real people and real life achievements and take their story to inspire my own, but even in doing so I don't want to follow in their footsteps, I want to create my own and walk in my own shoes. But what is all this about? You thought that this is called beauty blog for a reason and you're perfectly right. Sometimes a little bit of celebrity inspo isn't that bad, especially when it comes to makeup. There you go, it's still a beauty blog. Charlotte Tilbury has turned her favorite famous style icons into a whole new range of lipsticks. Her Hot Lips collection features 16 shades that are named after famous models, actresses and other very famous people that are on Tilbury's list of clients. Among them is Latina beauty Salma Hayek. She inspired Charlotte to name the lipstick Secret Salma after her - a beautiful deep-rose plum. From pictures and swatches I saw on the internet I expected the shade to be a bit darker and more out of my comfort zone. Turns out that it is much lighter than I thought and a lot more in my comfort zone than I wanted it to be. Nevertheless it is a gorgeous rosy lipstick that is super comfortable to wear as are all Matte Revolution lipsticks (read all about it here). Oh and in the first two months of retail £1 of each sold lipstick was donated to Women for Women International. This is how to set an example. Don't you think?

Lange Zeit kein Post. Aber mir ist, wie Adele es sagen würde, das Leben dazwischen gekommen. Zwischen Masterarbeit, Arbeit, Bewerbungen schreiben und einem bald anstehendem Umzug, ist der Blog leider auf der Strecke geblieben. Dabei hat sich eine Menge angesammelt und alles will verbloggt werden. Ich nehme mir auch fest vor, alles in lesbares Material umzuwandeln, aber die Masterarbeit und alles oben erwähnte hält mich weiterhin auf Trab. Aber nun genug von 'immer alles auf einmal', das Leben ist kein Ponyhof und voller schöner Dinge. Wie diese absolut fabelhafte Neuentdeckung - wahrscheinlich einer der besten dieses noch jungen Jahres - die jetzt zum Zuge kommt. 
Warum habe ich Ewigkeiten gebraucht, um endlich einen der Matte Revolution Lipsticks von Charlotte Tilbury mein Eigen nennen zu dürfen? Ernsthaft. Was habe ich mir nur gedacht? Wenn Charlotte sagt, dass diese Lippenstifte revolutionär sind, dann sind sie das auch, ohne wenn und aber. Eine Freundin war neulich in London und war so lieb mir so ein roségoldenes Schmuckstück mitzubringen. Sie sollte zwischen Bond Girl und Walk of Shame wählen. Bond Girl war weit und breit ausverkauft. Mit Walk of Shame bin ich aber auch mehr als happy. Laut Charlotte Tilburys webseite ist Walk of Shame ein berry tinted rose. In der Hülse tendiert es eher zu einem Rotbraun, genau wie auf meinen Lippen. Auch wenn ich die Farbe nicht ganz genau bestimmen kann, was sich absolut sicher sagen lässt: Die Textur ist der Wahnsinn. Cremig, langanhaltend, wunderbar matt und das Beste - sie trocknet meine ohnehin schon sehr trockenen Lippen nicht noch übermäßig weiter aus. Normalerweise muss ich nach einer Nacht mit mattem Lippenstift eine intensive Pflegekur mit Lipbalm und Maske einlegen. Drei Stunden Nars Velvet Lip Pencil auf den Lippen= drei Tage Pflege im Minutentakt auftragen. Hier verkürzt sich die Kur auf eine Nacht mit der Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (Post dazu folgt). Die Matte Revolution Lippenstifte sehen also nicht nur unfassbar schön aus, ich komme tatsächlich kaum darüber hinweg, sie haben auch richtig was auf dem Kasten. 

Long time no post. I had a lot on my plate recently. Writing my master's thesis, working, writing job applications and organizing our move (new place is coming soon - yaaaay) is very time consuming. I had a lot to do and just couldn't make room for my blog. But I will try my best and and get back to more frequent postings. Hopefully. What would make a better post than my first favorite beauty product in 2016? The year just started, but this thing right here really is exciting. 
Why did it take me so long to get one of Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipsticks? I mean, seriously: Why? Because when Charlotte names them Matte Revolution Lipsticks, they are really matte and indeed revolutionary. 

A lovely friend of mine got me one of Charlotte Tilbury's wonders while she visited London. I asked her to pick up Bond Girl or Walk of Shame for me. Bond Girl was sold out and so she returned home with Walk of Shame. I was immediately blown away by the packaging. Look at it. It's rose golden, classy and has this vintage vibe. It makes me want to look at it and hold it in my hand all the time. And apply it, of course. According to Charlotte Tilbury's website Walk of Shame (the name...so good) is a berry tinted rose. In the tube it looks like a brownish red and so does it come out on my lips. No matter how you want to call the shade, it's fantastic and the texture is everything. My lips are naturally dry. After wearing a matte lipstick, like the Nars Velvet Lip Pencil, I have to apply a moisturizing lip balm or better a lip mask, three days and nights in a row just to get my lips back in shape. But with the Matte Revolution Lipstick, it's different. Its basically just one night with Bite Beauty's Agave Lip Mask (there's a post on this coming soon) and I'm good. The formula is creamy, long lasting and doesn't dry out my lips too much. I told you its a revolution. And this color?  Don't be fooled by the name, there's no shame in it.
