Revlon Scented Nail Enamel Bordeaux

Muss also wohl am Nagellack liegen.

I still don't know why Revlon decided to stop selling their great stuff in Germany. I mean, we never could experience the greatness of their Grow Luscious Mascara or Color Burst Lip Butter or Scented Nail Enamel. Thank God there's international shipping and other Revlon-countries we visit from time to time. So thanks to my family in New York I managed to get my hands on the Grow Luscious Mascara and Color Burst Lip Butter. During my last trip to Poland I discovered the Scented Nail Enamels at a local Douglas. Bordeaux was the chosen one to come home with me. I really hoped to find Autumn Spice, but nope. I'm still disappointed. But maybe we will be together one day. I will not give up on you Autumn Spice.
Let's move on to my Scented Nail Enamel in Bordeaux. As you may suggest, Boredaux is a dark red shade which should remind you of red wine. The bottle is so incredibly cute. Just look at it. Like a tiny bottle of super expensive French perfume. The brush is small and thin, but there's nothing to complain about. The formula is rather jelly than creamy so that you need at least two coats for full opacity. I didn't use a top coat because I didn't want to ruin the scent. The first time I was able to smell the scent was after an hour of drying time I think. I took a sniff at the bottle, but unfortunately the nail polish has to dry down completely to release the scent. So how does Bordeaux smell? Like red, red wine? It's up to you.... Sorry it was just too tempting. Well, Bordeaux smells like sweet bubble gum. The scent lasts for about two days. After the same time I had a lot of tip wear due to the lack of top coat. Another issue: nail polish bubbles. I used a brand new base coat, because the problem occured before.
I paid like 5€ for Bodeaux. In case of nail polish it's rather cheap. And despite the bubbles, I still want Autumn Spice.

New in: Beauty - Poland haul edition

Today I will show you my beauty purchases from my trip to Poland. I can spend hours at Sephora swatching anything from lip sticks to blushes and even mascaras until my arms and legs are colorfully striped. And then walk over to the next Douglas and repeat what I did at Sephora, especially with products by Revlon, because Douglas carries them within their range. But that's not it folks. I also never leave the local drugstores with empty hands. So let's start with my drug store purchases.

Le Petit Marseillais products are all time favs of many bloggers. Somehow, I never paid attention to them. Maybe because I always have a huge supply of shower gel. But then Lait de Vanille came my way and had 3€ on it's price tag and that's the story of how I met my first Le Petit Marseillais shower gel.
I tried a lot of things to get a tan, but my skin seems to reject them all . Self-tanning sprays, self-tanning mouse, self-tanning towelettes, but nothing really works on me. When I saw the Kolastyna tanning lotion that is supposed to give you a tan gradually by using it every day, I was curious. Not that I haven't had tons of these kind of products, but simply because it smells so good (coconut). I didn't really think much of it, but it leaves my skin hydrated but not sticky and my legs are not that pale any more. I think I want more.

As you may know, my relationship with my lashes and mascaras is rather complicated. But I like to try new things and so I decided to give Maybelline's Colossal Go Extreme Volum' Mascara a shot. I bought the waterproof version, because I like to play it safe. The drug stores there have ridicioulos special offers and so I paid 5,50€ for my mascara (the half of it's price here in Germany). At first I didn't like it, but after a couple of days I learned to appreciate it. The smudging in my under eye area isn't that bad either.

As I already mentioned, Douglas carries some Revlon products and I was super excited about it. Unfortunately only one product really caught my eye: The Scented Nail Enamels. I hoped to get my hands on Autumn Spice, but it was out of stock I think. So I picked up the darkest shade available: Bordeaux. I will be posting a review soon.

I should stay away from Sephora really. Or somebody should warn the poor people working there. I just ask so many questions^^ For example about Clinique's Almost Lipsticks. I always wanted their cult favorite in Black Honey, but they didn't have it. So I took the other three available shades home with me to get over the sadness of not getting Black Honey (two lipsticks were gifts from my mum by the way, thanks mum!). The Almost Lipsticks are like tinted lip balms, much like the Chubby Sticks or more like the latest members of the Chubby Family, the Baby Tints. I got them on sale and so they retailed for about 12€ each. The colors I have are: 35 Tender Honey, 36 Chic Honey and 41 Flirty Honey. Tender Honey is really sheer, it just adds shine to my lips. Chic Honey may be the closest shade to Black Honey. It appears super dark in the tube, but gives my lips a nice slightly bitten look. Flirty Honey is a sheer pink that looks really naturally and 'healthy' when applied.

Chanel Cream Blush in 69 Intonation

Chanel Rouge Coco in 41 Destinee

I did some high end beauty product shopping as well. At Sephora I found Chanel's Cream Blush in 69 Intonation from the 2014 spring collection (two words: limited edition). It applies like a dream, is incredibly pigmented and perfect for summer. At Douglas I fell in love with Chanel's Rouge Coco lip stick in 41 Destinée. The color is right up my alley. They both retailed for about 25€. How could I say no?

Next stop: Brussels

Last weekend my boyfriend, two of our good friends and I spent some time in Brussels. We had some rainy and windy days, but we enjoyed it anyway.

It took us less than two hours to get there via Thalys and afterwards we checked into Hotel Bloom. Maybe its not the Burj al arab, but just fine for a short trip. All rooms are designed individually by international artists. Our room for example had black and red flowers painted on the wall.

The Grand Place located in Brussels city center is a very pretty highlight and is really beautiful at night. I think we took a million pictures there.
On every corner there are Brasseries that are so typical for brussels and these nostalgic little shops that sell delicious boxes of chocolate. I tried to resist, but there is no escape. Sooner or later you return home with heavy bags filled with lots of chocolate and cookies and macarons.
It is so much fun just to walk around the alleys that are filled with the smell of freshly baked belgian waffles.
Of course we spent some time shopping (all details on that are in the gallery below). It is sale time at ZARA, do I have to say more? I purchased these black heels with the ankle strap I was looking for desperately the last months. Online shop: out of stock. All my local ZARA stores: sold out. Last pair hidden under a pile of jeans at a ZARA store in Brussels: Jackpot! Lucky me :)

As you already know, I´m a fan of comics. Visiting the belgian comic center was a major point on my Brussels to do-list. There is so much fun stuff to see. Starting with life-sized comic heroes to adult only-comics. The souvenir shop offers tons of comics and cards and books and keychains and......so on.

But there are also some negative things we noticed. First of all there were many places that were not so nice-nice. To put it in a word: dirty. Really dirty. Second thing is, that all people we met there (waiters, inhabitants) were unfriendly. They seem to have an aversion to people from Germany. Sad, but that is what we have experienced during our stay in Brussels...

Overall it was a nice trip. I can imagine that Brussels is very lovely during the summer months and has much more to offer.
I love traveling, because it is always good to experience something new and to discover new places, to hear, see and taste things that you haven´t before.
