Philosophy has answered your prayers: Philosophy when hope is not enough hydrating antioxidant serum

Als ich neulich mal wieder (nicht zu Zwecken meiner Masterarbeit) vor dem Laptop saß, habe ich mir überlegt, ob ich neben den üblichen Verdächtigen - Mario Badescu Facial Spray und Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments - vielleicht ein neues liebstes Produkt habe. Und siehe da, ganz frisch in meiner täglichen Beautyroutine und schon ein Favorit: Das when hope is not enough hydrating antioxidant serum von Philosophy. Philosophy ist kein Unbekannter hier auf diesem Blog, meine Liebe gilt den 3 in1 Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel Produkten, die so gut duften, dass ich mich darin suhlen könnte. Und die herrlichen Body Soufflés...ein Traum. Die Feuchtigkeitscreme hope in a jar benutze ich im Winter sehr gerne, wenn meine Haut eine extra Portion Feuchtigkeit und Schutz braucht. Der Star dieses posts reiht sich daher in meine Philosophy-Hitliste ein, als wäre er schon immer dort gewesen. Das when hope is not enough hydrating antioxidant serum soll die Haut mit Feuchtigkeit versorgen, der Hautalterung entgegenwirken, vor freien Radikalen schützen, dunkle Schatten und Verfärbungen minimieren und die Haut einfach glatter und praller erscheinen lassen. Enthalten sind Vitamin C und E, Hyaluronsäre und Gluthatione (musste auch erstmal googlen was das eigentlich ist, Ergebnis: ein Antioxidant. In einem Antioxidant Serum! Revolutionär!). Dafür fehlen unter anderem Sulfate, Parabene und Phthalate, was natürlich sehr zu begrüßen ist. 5-6 Tropfen sollen auf das Gesicht, Hals und Dekolletee aufgetragen und einmassiert werden. Gesagt getan. Ich verwende das Serum am liebsten abends vor meiner Nachtcreme. Ob es wirklich alle hoch angepriesenen Versprechen erfüllt kann ich nicht bestätigen, aber meine Haut sieht am Morgen erholter und ein klein wenig strahlender aus. Das finde ich großartig, weil ich meinem Morgengesicht lieber erst nach einer Dusche und komplettem Makeup gegenüberstehe. Also darf man das doch schon unter "reife Leistung" verbuchen. 

It's been quite a long time since I talked about a favorite product. So when I thought of the usual suspects – the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments and Mario Badescu Facial Spray - I couldn't really think of anything else. But when I prepared my face for the night, it hit me. A rather new product in my beautyroutine is Philosophy's when hope is not enough hydrating antioxidant serum. I've been using this for three weeks now and so far I don't want to miss it. And it fits perfectly into my Philosophy love list. Hope in a jar is my go to moisturizer during the cold season and their 3 in 1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath is probably my favorite shower gel of all time (just got my hands on Christmas cookie *insert heart eyed emoji here*). And don't get me started on their body soufflés. They smell heavenly and feel non greasy on the skin. But why exactly is this serum the new cool kid on the blog now? Because there is vitamin c and e in it, as well as hyaluronic acid and glutathione and all these ingredients are supposed to perform wonders.

The serum is supposed to lift and tone the skin and prevent premature aging. It is formulated without parabens and sulfates, thumbs up for this. I can't really tell if it lives up to all this fancy claims, but I can somehow see a difference on my skin. I use this serum at night and when I get up in the morning my skin looks not as tired as usual and is oh so soft. And this makes a huge difference, because normally I prefer to face my morning self in the mirror after a shower and full face makeup. So yes, this gives me hope. 

Stuff I love: Essie Nourish Me Base Coat and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

Wenn es um meine Nägel geht, bin ich streng. Ohne lackierte Nägel verlasse ich das Haus nicht. Eine nagellackfreie Nacht in der Woche plane ich aber grundsätzlich ein. Meistens wird am Samstag Abend (egal wie spät ich Heim komme) ablackiert, die Nägel gefeilt, ein DIY-Peeling gemacht und über Nacht eine regenerierende Maske aufgetragen. Gleich nach dem Frühstück am nächsten Tag geht es dann munter weiter mit der Maniküre. 

Mir ist bewusst, dass meine Nägel in der kurzen Zeit nur wenig aufatmen können, aber ohne etwas Farbe auf den Fingerspitzen fühle ich mich nackt. 

Die Spuren dieses exzessiven, bereits Jahre, nein Jahrzehnte andauernden Nagellackmissbrauchs spüre ich deutlich. Meine Nägel sind zwar nicht brüchig per se, aber die Nageloberfläche teilt sich in mehrere Schichten auf wenn ich Ihnen mit der Feile zu nahe komme. Leider lässt sich letzteres nicht vermeiden, weil meine Nägel wie Unkraut wachsen. Ich habe schon etliche Feilen ausprobiert. Immer mit dem selben Ergebnis: Nagelspliss. Auf dem Kopf habe ich dieses Problem Dank Glätteisenabstinenz hervorragend im Griff. Vielleicht würde eine vorübergehende Lackpause dieses Problem beheben, aber das ist einfach nicht drin.

Deswegen versuche ich mit guten Basecoats wenigstens etwas Abhilfe zu schaffen. Mein absolut liebster Basecoat ist der Nourish Me Basecoat von Essie. Er hält die einzelnen Schichten gut zusammen und glättet die Oberfläche für ein optimales Ergebnis. Nur leider gehört das nun der Vergangenheit an: Essie hat den Lack schon länger aus dem Sortiment genommen. Was man hier sieht, ist meine letzte Flasche. Danach ist es aus und vorbei. Ich bekomme schon leichte Panikattacken wenn ich sehe wie sich der Füllstand mit jedem Pinselstrich verringert. In spätestens ein bis zwei Monaten sitze ich dann da und werde das Internet verzweifelt auf der Suche nach einem brauchbaren Lückenfüller durchforsten. Kosten und Mühen werden nicht gescheut. Wenn es eine Alternative für den Nourish Me Basecoat gibt, ist mir der Preis herzlich egal. Wenn jemand einen fabelhaften Basecoat kennt der oben genannten Zustand irgendwie verbessern kann, so möge er jetzt bitte bitte sprechen. 

Mein liebster Topcoat ist da ein geringeres Problem. Der Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat ist mir Anfang des letzten Jahres mal bei TkMaxx in die Hände gefallen. Ich hatte zwar schon oft davon gelesen, aber er ist mir bis dato nie untergekommen. Am selben Tag noch probierte ich ihn aus und rannte am nächsten Tag zu TkMaxx um auch die restlichen drei Fläschen zu kaufen. In Polen besorge ich mir auch immer mehrere Backups. Der Seche Vite top coat trocknet wirklich in Windeseile, versiegelt die Oberfläche mit Spiegelglanz und fängt erst an Bläschen zu werfen, wenn nur noch ein Drittel des Lacks im Fläschchen vorhanden ist. Das habe ich mit anderen Topcoats sehr viel schneller erlebt. 

Der Nourish Me Basecoat von Essie und der Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat sind also mein Maniküre Dreamteam. Das in der Form leider kurz vor dem Aussterben steht. Und dann? Werde ich wohl zum Jäger des Verlorenen Schatzes werden und versuchen irgendwie, irgendwo noch an ein Fläschen Nourish Me zu kommen oder bitte bitte bitte einen neuen heiligen Gral finden. 

When it comes to wearing nail polish there's no room for discussion. I wear nail polish all day everyday. I never leave the house without painted fingertips. Once a week, usually on saturdays (no matter how late I might come home) I take off my current nail polish, file my nails, make a DIY-peeling and put on a moisturizing hand mask overnight. I'm aware that these couple of hours aren't enough for my nails to breathe, but that's all I can give them. I just feel naked without nail polish. I'm not myself with bare nails. But my excessive long lasting (we're talking decades here) nail polish abuse already starts to show: my nails aren't brittle and don't break easily, but when I use a nail file on them they start to split into various layers. That's why I hate it to file my nails, but they grow so fast, that it's inevitably. I tried various nail files, but they all result in spliced nail layers. Its sad to watch. I'm a hundred percent positive that a temporary nail polish abstinence would solve this problem, but unfortunately this won't happen. So I need a good base coat to keep all the layers in place. 

My number one base coat is Essie's Nourish Me Base Coat. It solves the problem (at least on the surface) and creates a perfectly smooth base for color. And here's the sad news: a while ago Essie decided to discontinue Nourish Me. What you see here is my very last bottle. I don't want to think of the day this one will be gone, but it's gonna be soon. And this is where I start to panic. What then? I better start to search the web for a good alternative, someone to fill the empty spot Nourish Me will leave behind. I don't care about the price tag. I just need a damn good base coat to pretend that my nails are alright. If anyone knows about a damn good base coat may come forward and say it loud please.

Top coat is a different story. I often read about the Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat, but couldn't find it in Germany. One day last year I stepped into my local TkMaxx and found a bottle of it. The same night I tested it, fell in love and the next morning ran back to TkMaxx to purchase another bottle (or three). I also buy several back ups whenever I'm in Poland. This is seriously good stuff. It dries within minutes and is super shiny. What I also like about it is that it doesn't get these annoying  bubbles so fast. They occur after 2/3 of the nail polish is gone. I experienced this phenomenon much faster with other top coats. So this is my manicure dream team which will face extinction very soon. I  will not give up on this and try to find at least another bottle of Nourish Me like Indiana Jones found the lost ark or maybe I will find another holy grail. Fingers crossed.

Stuff I love: ck one color 3 in 1 Face Make-up SPF 8 Foundation

Nachdem ich schon dabei bin mein zweites Fläschchen der 3 in 1 Face Make-up SPF 8 Foundation von ck one color zu leeren, wird es allerhöchste Zeit endlich mal eine Lobeshymne darauf zu singen. Außerdem steht Eva Chen vom Lucky Magazine auch total darauf und wenn sie es bei Instagram als einen ihrer Favoriten markiert, dann muss da etwas dran sein. 

Vielleicht erinnert sich die/der eine oder andere noch daran, wie ich im April des letzten Jahres schon eine leichte Vorahnung bezüglich der Foundation äußerte, die mir (leider in der falschen Farbe) als Sample beim Kauf meines Pure Color Lipsticks gereicht wurde (hier nochmal zu sehen). Die Konsistenz gefiel mir auf Anhieb und ich wurde neugierig. Einige Zeit später bummelte ich mit Ania durch Düsseldorf, wir stolperten über den CK-Counter bei Karstadt, fielen quasi mit dem Gesicht in den Foundation Pinsel und zack waren wir beide gleichermaßen verliebt. Aber warum ist genau diese Foundation Frodo und darf den Ring tragen? Ganz einfach. Das Finish ist einfach perfekt und hält einiges aus. Schlachten mit Orks und der Marsch zum Schicksalsberg inklusive. Ich bin kein Fan von maskenhaften Foundations, die matt sind und die Haut nicht durchscheinen lassen. Ich bin eher so der getönte Tagescreme-Typ. Natürlich ist meine Haut nicht die einer Märchenprinzessin: Ich habe vergrößerte Poren, leichte Rötungen, dunkle Augenringe und Sommersprossen. Und trotzdem mag ich es, wenn meine Haut unter der Foundation sichtbar ist. Ich sehe einfach ungern geschminkt aus. Macht echt Sinn, wenn man über Beauty bloggt. Könnte man denken, aber wenn man dann so etwas wie "Deine Haut sieht echt gut aus" oder "Foundation? Wo denn?" hört, dann sieht man doch gerne geschminkt ungeschminkt aus. Deswegen ist das ck one color 3 in 1 Face Make-Up meine liebste Foundation.

Also mal von vorn: Ich finde, dass die Verpackung schon ziemlich cool ist. In Schwarz und Weiß gehalten sieht der Flakon ein bisschen wie ein Weltraumei aus. Ein kleines transparentes Fenster zeigt die Farbe der Foundation. In meinem Fall in der Nuance 200 Fair. Ich hatte anfangs die Befürchtung, dass sie etwas zu gelbstichig für mich sein könnte, aber sie passt sich meinem Hautton perfekt an. Die Konsistenz ist für mich ein Hybrid aus Gel und Creme und sorgt für ein transparentes Finish. Schön ausgedrückt könnte man es mit ein wenig Hokuspokus auch so beschreiben:

Der enthaltende SPF 8 ist natürlich etwas dürftig, aber immer noch besser als gar kein Sonnenschutz. Meine Haut sieht mit der Foundation einfach ziemlich lange, ziemlich gut aus und wird optimal mit Feuchtigkeit versorgt. Meistens pudere ich auch kaum ab, nicht weil meine T-Zone nicht früher oder später glänzt (aber dafür gibts ja blotting paper), sondern weil das Finish dann etwas dewy wirkt und das ist sowas wie das Nonplusultra. 30ml sind für 28€ zu haben und den Preis definitiv wert.  Das Finish erinnert mich übrigens etwas an Vitalumiére Aqua von Chanel oder ich beschreibs mal so: damit kann ich I woke up like this sagen und alle glauben es. Whoop Whoop.

I promised to talk about my favorite foundation some time ago and now that I'm on my second bottle of it, this post is so overdue. But if you're reading this right now, you will finally get what you've been waiting for. Last year I purchased my first product from the ck beauty line, the Pure Color Lipstick (click here for a little reminder) and received a sample of the said foundation which should become my good skin day in a bottle. The sample's shade was too dark for my skin, but the formula made me curious. So the next time Ania and I stopped by a ck beauty counter we fell in love with the ck one color 3 in 1 Face Make-up Spf 8. But what makes this my favorite foundation? It's the natural and lasting finish it creates. Imagine Frodo when he puts on the ring and becomes invisible, thats what this foundation looks like on my skin. I'm not into foundations which turn your face into a matte mask. I'm more of a tinted moisturizer kind of girl. I mean my skin is far from perfect: I have some visible pores, redness, dark circles and freckles, but I don't want my skin to be all covered up. I want it to look like skin. Actually it looks so natural that people always get that "whaaaat?"-look on their faces when I tell them that I'm wearing a foundation. You know, when they open their eyes very wide and their jaw drops to the floor and stuff. Yes, it's that good. If you don't believe me, then maybe you believe Eva Chen, Lucky magazine editor-in-chief, who featured this particular foundation several times on her instagram. I use it in the shade 200 Fair and most of the time I resist the urge to dust powder over it. Unless I have a very long day ahead of me and in case my skin gets oily I just use some blotting paper. This way I get this kind of dewy finish. Dewy finish, this should ring a bell. Formulawise its somewhere between gel and creme and for sure hydrating. The only downside is that it only contains SPF 8, but its still better than no SPF at all. The ck one foundation is great for everyone looking for a natural finish with sheer coverage. I think Chanel Vitalumiére Aqua is very close. 30ml/1. oz retail for 28€/30$. A decent price for a foundation which you can slap on in the morning, say I woke up like this and people will actually believe it.

Stuff I love: Tom Ford Vampire Kiss lipstick

Es gibt Geschenke und es gibt Geschenke, die als "Mitbringsel" deklariert werden und man dann kurz darauf mit großen Augen zur besten Freundin rüberschaut und lautlos "OMG Tom Ford" flüstert. Genau so passiert.
Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich zwar den einen oder anderen Lippenstift besitze, aber ich mir im Klaren darüber bin, dass Tom Ford in einer ganz anderen Liga spielt. Ich spreche nicht nur von der ultra fancy Verpackung in Braun und Gold, nein auch von der TF-Prägung, der Farbintensivität und Haltbarkeit. Das kann nicht jeder Lippenstift. Vielleicht denkt ihr euch jetzt: "Komm wieder runter. Es ist ein Lippenstift. Immer diese Materialisten." Mag sein, aber dann sollte man mal einen Tom Ford Lippenstift in die Hand nehmen. Ich bin ein Beautysnop und ich stehe dazu. Ich mag fancy Verpackungen, hübsche Farben und kreative Namen (Vampire Kiss weckt bei mir gleich True Blood Assoziationen. Wie konnten sie die Serie jetzt nach Staffel  7 nur absetzen? Wieso nur?).

Genug des Vorgeplänkels und ran ans Eingemachte. Vampire Kiss (29) von Tom Ford war Teil der limitierten Jasmin Rouge Holiday Kollektion aus dem letzten Jahr. Es ist ein kräftiges, leicht metallisch schimmerndes Kirschrot mit leichtem Blaustich. Es ist so unfassbar gut pigmentiert, dass ein einziger swipe für volle Deckkraft reicht. Und die Farbe hält und hält. Sicher auch Dank des matten Finishs. Es bleibt auch ein Stain zurück nachdem die Farbe sich schon längst verabschiedet hat. Ich trage ja eher selten roten Lippenstift, auch wenn ich kirschrote Lippen toll finde. Wenn es aber dann mal Rot sein soll, dann habe ich absolut gar nichts gegen so einen Vampirkuss einzuwenden.
Wie ihr seht, rundum perfekt also. Ich würde jetzt gerne eine uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung aussprechen, aber leider war Vampire Kiss limitiert. Ich gehe allerdings davon aus, dass alle Lippenstifte des Tom Ford Beauty Segments von ähnlich guter Qualität sind. Alles andere würde mich in dem High End Bereich auch stark überraschen.

There are presents and there are presents which make you whisper "Omg Tom Ford" to your best friend in the backseat of a car. Yes, that's what happened after a friend handed over a Tom Ford lipstick out of nowhere just as a little surprise gift. I mean I own some lipsticks, but we're talking about Tom Ford here. That's a different story. I'm a beauty snop and I know it. Tom Ford lipsticks have everything to make a beauty snop's heart beat faster. Fancy, super luxurious packaging, that engraved TF logo on the lipstick itself, the great pigmentation, long lasting color and creative names (vampire kiss instantly reminded me of True Blood. How could they end True Blood? Why?). I bet now you're thinking "Jeez, keep it together. It's just a lipstick". Maybe. But you can't disagree with me, that this is way more luxurious than your average drugstore lipstick. But now off to the core of this story: 

Tom Ford Vampire Kiss (29) lipstick has been released with the Jasmin Rouge collection as a limited holiday edition last year. It is a rich cherry red with a hint of shimmer. The shimmer is really subtle and has an almost metallic sheen to it, but again subtle. It is rather matte and very nicely pigmented. I just needed a single swipe for full opacity. Wearing time is good, about five hours without too much lip action. It fades evenly and leaves a red stain behind. I love red lipstick, but don't wear it too often. Too much attention I think. But there are these rare days when I'm brave enough to wear a bold lip and that's when Vampire Kiss will be my first choice. I would love to tell you to go and get it, but as I mentioned before, this was limited edition (insert sad face emotikarl here). But I can only imagine that all lipsticks included in Tom Ford's beauty range are this great. That's what I expect looking at the price tag.

Stuff I love: Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Als ich noch ein Kind und Teenager war, liebte mich die Sonne und ich liebte sie. Ein Tag am Meer reichte schon und schwups war mein Teint von der Sonne geküsst. Einen Tag später von der Sonne umarmt und spätestens am dritten Tag sah ich aus wie Robinson Crusoe nach einem Jahr. Wirklich wahr. Die Zeiten sind leider vorbei. Meine Haut transformierte sich auf wundersame Weise und beschloss, dass die Sonne und ich uns besser trennen sollten. Vielleicht sind meine Solariumbesuche in der Vergangenheit schuld daran, aber man war jung und dumm und brauchte die Bräune. Wenn ich jetzt in die Sonne gehe, dann nur mit SPF 50 Schutz und kehre auch nach einem ganzen Tag mit einer Blassnase oder roten Wangen trotz Hut oder Aufenthalt im Schatten zurück. Ein paar Sommersprossen kommen vielleicht noch dazu, aber das war's dann. Ich meine, ich möchte nicht in der Sonne schmoren und krebsrot werden (bleibt weg ihr Falten), aber so ein bisschen Bräune ist doch ganz nett. Wenn ich morgens in den Spiegel schaue und den Zombie begrüße, wünsche ich mir wenigstens einen Hauch von Glow. Ehrlich, wenn mich Leute ungeschminkt sehen, lautet die erste Frage immer: "Oh nein, bist du krank?" Nein, meistens nicht. Ich sehe nur krank/tot aus. Es hat auch mal ein Kind auf mich gezeigt und "Ich kann tote Menschen sehen" geflüstert. Was also tun? Selbstbräuner! Genau, den nimmt meine Haut nur irgendwie nicht an und wenn doch, sieht es so unfassbar künstlich aus, dass ich ihn gleich wieder absetze. Ich habe im Laufe meines optischen Scheintodes so einiges ausprobiert und nichts für gut befunden. Und dann tauchte der Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster auf den ersten, ausländischen Blogs auf und landete sofort auf meinem Radar. Ich schöpfte neue Hoffnung und stalkte alle Parfümerien meiner Stadt und checkte täglich alle Online Shops, die mich regulär mit Beauty versorgen. Lange tat sich nichts und auf Clarins.de war er schon längst ausverkauft. Aber dann entdeckte ich ihn endlich auf Douglas.de. Mittlerweile benutze ich den Booster seit einigen Wochen und ich bin ein bisschen begeistert: Ich sehe vielleicht nicht aus wie frisch aus dem Karibikurlaub, aber eben auch nicht mehr wie grad einer Gruft entstiegen. Aber mal von Anfang an:

Der Addition Concentré Eclat/ Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster Made-to-measure self tan ist ein Selbstbräuner-Konzentrat, welches einfach mit der üblichen (Nacht-) Pflege gemischt wird. Easy peasy. Man tröpfelt einfach 2-3 Tropfen auf den Handrücken, vermischt es mit einer beliebigen Creme, auf das Gesicht auftragen und fertig. Hände waschen nicht vergessen! Ich verwende es immer Abends mit meiner Nachtpflege. Das Konzentrat riecht nicht unangenehm nach Selbstbräuner und könnte in der Anwendung nicht einfacher sein. Die ersten Ergebnisse hatte ich nach etwa 5 Tagen. Wenn die gewünschte Bräune erreicht ist, reduziert man die Tropfenmenge einfach und kann den Glow so erhalten. 

15ml des Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Boosters kosten derzeit ca. 20€. Ich kann aktuell noch nicht sagen, wie lange ich mit einem Fläschchen auskomme, aber den Preis finde ich absolut ok. Vielleicht bin ich auch einfach nur froh, etwas gefunden zu haben, dass mich lebendig aussehen lässt :) Von mir gibt es daher eine absolute Kaufempfehlung!

There was a time in my childhood and teenage years when I was in love with the sun and the sun loved me back. The sun showed me affection by giving my skin this sun kissed look. After two days at the beach I had a super nice tan and usually three days later, people have mistaken me for Robinson Crusoe. But these times are over now. Now I need SPF 50 to stand the sun for just an hour. My cheeks turn red in minutes (even when I wear a hat and stay in the shade) or nothing happens at all. More freckles happen, but that's it. My skin has transformed and decided that the sun is no longer my bff. Maybe it's my own fault, because I used to use tanning beds often. But what can I say? I was young and needed a tan. So today I'm what you consider pale. Actually that's a lie. Without make up I look dead. People always ask me if I'm sick. Remember Snow White? Skin as white as snow? Please. Compared to me, the girl looked healthy. So what to do? Self tan! Well, doesn't work with my skin. I tried different kinds and brands and nothing really worked. Either you didn't see a difference at all or it looked so fake that I couldn't continue using it. And then Clarins introduced their Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster Made-to-measure self tan and I gained fresh hope. But it wasn't available in Germany until now and so I waited impatiently and read every review I could find. A couple of weeks ago I ordered it via Douglas.de and spoiler ahead: I love it! 

The Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is a self tanning product that you can use with your regular moisturizer. It's so easy. You just mix 2-3 drops with your moisturizer in the palm or back if your hand, apply it to your face and neck and let it do it's magic. Don't forget to wash your hands afterwards. I prefer to use it before bed, not because of the typical self tan product smell (there is none), but because I find it easier to include it in my skin care routine. And really it couldn't be easier. After you have reached the intensity of your desired glow, you simply add less drops to maintain your tan. I'm not saying that I look like I have spent a week on a tropical island, but I look less dead. 

15ml retail for 20€ and I think the booster is totally worth it! I can't tell how long a bottle will last, but I don't care as long as I get rid of the corpse bride look!

Stuff I love: Treaclemoon Warm Cinnamon Nights Duschcreme

Weihnachten steht gefühlt schon übermorgen vor der Tür und die Kosmetikindustrie wirft schon laufend hübsche Holiday Kollektionen auf den Markt. Der Weihnachtsmarkt hat seine Pforten geöffnet und schon riecht es in der ganzen Stadt wieder nach Glühwein, gebrannten Mandeln und Zimt. Zimt ist hier das richtige Stichwort. Treaclemoon hat ein limitiertes Duschgel herausgebracht, das auf den Namen Warm Cinnamon Nights hört. Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich alles liebe was mit Zimt zu tun hat: Ich trinke meinen Kaffee mit Zimt, backe gerne Zimtplätzchen und ach ich könnte den ganzen Tag schnuppernd vor einer Zimtdose liegen. Völlig klar also, dass ich dieses Duschgel haben musste!
Warm Cinnamon Nights riecht jetzt nicht unbedingt total nach Zimt, aber ich nehme eine leichte, vielleicht auch künstliche Note wahr. Und dazu diese Farbe. Damit komme ich mir schon so festlich vor unter der Dusche (kann man das so sagen?).
500ml gibt es bei dm für 3,95€. Ich werde mir auf jeden fall noch ein back up besorgen. Der Fluch der Limited Edition....


Christmas is just around the corner and you can find new pretty holiday-themed make up kits everyday. This also means that it's just about time for the Christmas market to open it's gates and seduce me with the delicious smell of winter punch, all kinds of sweets and of course cinnamon. I love cinnamon. I like to drink my coffee with it, cinnamon cookies are one of my favs and I can totally see me sniffling a pack of cinnamon all day long. So no surprise here, that I had to have Treaclemoon's new limited edition shower cream called Warm Cinnamon Nights. Maybe it doesn't smell as cinnamon-y as you might expect it to smell, but it has some (artificial) hints of it in it. Plus: It's red. Sooo festive. When I use it in the shower, it already feels like christmas to me.
500ml of Warm Cinnamon Nights retail for 3,95€ at your local dm stores. I will need a back up of this for sure. Damn you limited edition...

Stuff I love: Cookies and even more cookies

Dass ich Kekse liebe, habe ich ja schon bei dem post über Erdnussbutter-cookies gepredigt (hier zu lesen). Backen entspannt mich auch irgendwie und der Duft von frisch gebackenen Plätzchen in der ganzen Wohnung ist es auch einfach wert. In letzter Zeit habe ich einige Rezepte aus dem Brigitte Plätzchen Extra probiert und sie waren alle so lecker, dass ruckzuck nichts mehr übrig war. Mal ehrlich: Was gibt es besseres als Kekse? Jeder liebt Kekse und Keksteig und Kekse. Also haben Bibi und ich uns zum late night baking in die Küche verzogen und haben ein paar unfassbar gute Cookies gebacken. Da wir eine unbändige Liebe zu Erdnussbutter und weißer Schokolade teilen, haben wir beide Vorlieben vereint und haben peanut butter and white chocolate chip cookies gebacken. Viel leckerer kann es eigentlich nicht werden.

Klingt gut? Ist auch noch einfach! Hier unser Rezept für ca. 35 relativ große cookies: 

250g Mehl

2 TL Backpulver

100g ungesalzene Erdnüsse

100g weiche Butter

100g Erdnussbutter (creamy oder crunchy)

150g Zucker

2 Eier

2 Päckchen Vanillezucker (oder Vanilleschoten)

Weiße Schokolade z.B. in Form von Eszet Schnitten (je nach Belieben, wir haben 5 Schnitten verwendet)

Und so gehts: 

Den Backofen auf 200°C vorheizen. 

Die Butter zusammen mit den Eiern, der Erdnussbutter, Zucker  und dem Vanillezucker schaumig rühren. 

Backpulver und Mehl mischen und nach und nach unterrühren. 

Die Erdnüsse werden grob gehackt, so wie die Schokolade und werden dann dazu gemischt.

Das Ganze zu einem festen Teig kneten und kleine Kugeln formen, diese auf einem mit Backpapier ausgelegten Blech "platt drücken" (genügend Abstand lassen) und ca. 10 Min auf der mittleren Schiene backen.   

Und yummy!

Let's face it: Is there anything better than cookies? I don't think so. Everybody loves cookies and cookie dough and of course cookies. So Bibi and I decided to lock ourselves into the kitchen and do some late night baking. We both have a thing for peanut butter and white chocolate and so the best possible thing to do was to bake peanut butter and white chocolate cookies. Actually it can't get any better.

Got your mouth watering? Here's what you need for our recipe:

250g flour

2 tsp baking soda

100g unsalted peanuts

100g soft butter

100g peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)

150g sugar

2 whole eggs

2 packages of vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract)

white chocolate (what ever kind and how much of it you like, we used 5 pieces of "Eszet")

And this is how you do it (about 35 not so small cookies):

Preheat the oven at (392F) 200°C .

Stir together butter, eggs, peanut butter, sugar and vanilla sugar. 

Mix flour and baking soda and stir it together with the dough.

Chop peanuts and chocolate into chunky pieces and mix into dough.

Then mix well by hand until you get a stiff dough.

Shape little balls out of the dough, place them on baking pans lined with parchment paper and flatten the balls (leave some space between them).

Bake them for 10 minutes and then enjoy!
